The staff (Franchisees really) were initially pleasant (I'll explain), but my god where they worn-out. You could see they clearly did not want to be there. Purely exhausted. Unfortunately this reflected on the quality of the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant.
The owner & I believe his wife were in the back. It only took a few seconds for him to notice our presence. When he did, he was flustered. He kept going back and forth between us & a pile of dirty containers sitting on the back counter that he had probably been planning to move to the back.
I had the Chile-Lime Fish burrito & a friend had a vegetarian option. My fish was way overcooked. Placing it in the Turbochef before serving just resulted in hot soggy battered fish. I didn't complain. The owner looked like he was having a bad day. The rice was under-cooked & unbelievably garlic-y. I could have vanquished some vampires after that meal. My friend's veggie burrito was fine except for the under-cooked garlic rice of course.
The food did have some positives. The Chipotle mayo & tomatillo salsa were great. The coleslaw mix was pretty interesting in a burrito. The food overall would have probably been great if it wasn't so poorly prepared.
I have been to many franchised restaurants in my day. My friend had actually managed a Quesada for years & had invited me to try the food. I have seen many worn-out ready to close-shop franchisees, as well. Nonetheless, We have never been charged at by a raging owner (The whole package: red face, neck veins popping, shoulders & traps flexed, and long wide strides) for exploring around the lobby of a restaurant.
Now you might think I was snooping through paperwork in his office or something but that was not the case. In the middle of the lobby, between the sitting area & the washrooms there is a bright red double door-ed closet. Note this bright red in an almost entirely green decor closet has no signs on it, while the doors around it did say "Private".
Well, turns out that bright red door leads to the electric cabinet. My friend & I, on our way out of the washroom, were curious to what was behind the mystery unlabelled door, so I peaked inside. I turned to my friend and said "Its just the electric cabinet" he was unimpressed, so I opened again to show him. That is when I noticed an alarm so we closed it and said "Sorry" loudly hoping the owners would hear us and proceeded towards the door.
As we approached the door, the owner's wife just yells "You two STOP" & the husband comes charging as described above. We tried to explain to him it was an accident and we were just curious.Whilst he just stood there fist clinched like he was looking for a fight. The restaurant wasn't even empty. They had actively chosen to ignore customers to make this pointless confrontation. What did they expect would happen? Suffice to say, this location, NEVER again.
tl:dr lower than average food quality served by angry stressed out owners that have no passion for food or the...
Read moreUse to be a regular here until a few instances caused me to never want to return. One time I bit into a ROCK while eating my burrito. It was pretty small but still disgusting, was shocked at how that could have happened, I could have chipped a tooth. Even after this happened my boyfriend convinced me to return so I unfornately did being hungry and not having many other options in the plaza. A few hours after having chicken burritos our stomachs began to ache horribly. We spent so much time on the toilet that we vouged to never return. A few weeks after this, I spoke to 3 DIFFERENT people and they told me that they had the exact same thing happen to them more then once. Seems like the owners could care less about the quality of the food and more about the money they’re bringing in. I kind of noticed this before as how hesitant he is of putting too many toppings on your food. I’ve also noticed how angry the owners get at new employees who make mistakes and how you never see the same employees more then a few times before they seem to either get fired or quit from the pressure. Long story short, I recommend staying far away...
Read moreI had a frustrating experience at while picking up a DoorDash order. After waiting eight minutes, I asked to use the restroom, only to be told that both washrooms were out of order. When I asked how the employees were managing, the staff member responded, “We are going on the road.”
This response felt dismissive and unprofessional. If a restaurant can’t even provide basic facilities for its own staff, that raises serious concerns. And if the washrooms were truly out of order, a responsible business would have addressed the issue rather than making employees and delivery drivers find alternatives.
As a delivery driver, I spend long hours ensuring timely service for customers, and it’s frustrating when businesses rely on us but don’t offer even minimal accommodations. This experience left a bad impression, and I’ll be reconsidering whether to accept future orders from this location.
⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) – Poor management and lack of basic facilities. Would...
