I ordered chicken skin a couple weeks ago from the Filipino noodle joint, it was delicious. I thought ok I’ll try somewhere else… so I ordered from Archie’s today. They gave me chicken skin that was very very dark and tasted like charcoal. It was burnt. They argued with me, they put me down and basically I left after getting a refund being belittled by the staff there. I drove from abbotsford… and this is the treatment to their customers. Shame… to add insult to the injury the lady wasn’t going to refund me the total amount… she said they would withhold the tax for cost of food. I mean that isn’t even legal. In the end I got my money back, but it was a total waste of a 40 min drive Don’t order the chicken skin. It will be burnt. Go to Filipino noodle joint instead
Editing this review to add that Archie seems that it will always respond to negative reviews by proving excuses forwhat they did not do wrong unfortunately, they continue to argue that this skin was not burnt. The reality is while the appearance of the chicken skin may not have looked burnt. It tasted burnt I asked him to test it while I was standing there and all he replied was “oh don’t worry they’ll get eaten” But did not try them in front of me . and while they say they don’t have to refund money. It’s in bad form if somebody doesn’t like the taste of the food Why would anybody want to be a repeat customer if you refuse to refund them. I did not walk in rudely asking for a refund I expected actually that they would offer to remake the chicken skin, but instead the male owner came out looked at it said it’s not burnt and then said will refund your money. There was no offer for a replacement for the food, which is what I would’ve been happy to get because I love properly fried chicken skin, but instead I had to take my business elsewhere They choose to respond negatively to the negative reviews instead of Constructive remedies. This business seems like they don’t want to improve that they are perfect and that nobody should ever leave them a negative Review. I would have happily amended my negative review if the restaurant hadn’t responded in this manner and remade the chicken skins for me to repurchase and try again, but if they don’t want my business, that’s their...

Right when I stepped in, I could smell the mouth-watering, slightly smoky scent of BBQ. The interior of Archie's was very cozy and it felt like I was eating at a friend/relative's house. Also, all the other customers were Filipino so I thought it meant that the food was authentic.
My friends and I ordered the sisig with garlic rice and egg, adobo, and halo halo. The texture and flavour of the adobo was perfect—it was soft and the meat melts in your mouth without it being too salty. The sisig was served on a hot plate and still sizzling when it was put on the table. I really liked that there were crispy meat parts as well as tender parts and the egg that it came with was perfect when mixed into the garlic rice. I do have to say that the dishes were a bit greasy, so I would not be able to eat it everyday.
We decided on getting the halo halo after seeing other tables ordering it. The serving was pretty big and it was the perfect size to split between three people. I have never tasted anything like halo halo before and it was amazing. I loved the texture of the toppings, the ube ice cream, and the overall sweet, but not too sweet flavour.
At the end, the staff at the counter was nice to let my friends and I split the bill with our individual items and 1/3 of the halo halo. The meal was filling and I would definitely come back again to try the other...
