So I was really excited to come here because I love chocolate and I am not opposed to paying a little bit extra for good quality chocolate. I have to say right off the bat there are very few prices on any of their chocolate items, which isn’t cool especially for how busy they are. I saw a lovely 18 piece box of truffle chocolates and there was no price anywhere for it. On their chocolates price menu, however, there was a price for an 18 piece box of bonbons. In the absence of any other obvious matching item I assumed this was the box I chose. When I got to the till I saw that it was not because rather than it ringing up as $48 (menu price) it was $60. When I mentioned to the person taking my order that I thought the price was wrong and pointed to the price that I thought it was on the menu, they told me that was the incorrect item. I then pointed out there was no price on their menu for the item they were saying I had. At that I was met with a sort of snobby indifference. Even a small acknowledgement that your pricing is flawed would have saved the day. Instead, I asked to remove the chocolates from my bill and purchased a bottled water and a small box of 4 Ketzels. Frankly, they were just ok. This place is way over priced. In my option Purdy’s (a Canadian Vancouver based company) has better chocolate and it’s not as expensive....
Read moreI needed to go out and get some fresh air on my break and I ended up craving caffeine. This isn’t my first time here and I’m glad they still uphold the same standards. The barista/ cashier was nice and made great suggestion as to what’s the perfect drink. I wasn’t planning on getting any dessert but everything looked good so I got the chocolate banana bread. It is moist, soft, not super sweet. I really enjoyed it and will be going back to try the red velvet slice too. They have great selection of coffee and chocolates, I remember buying coffee bags for Christmas and my friend loved it. I ordered the latte and it’s prepared well, just the right amount of foam. They even give you a complimentary choice of a milk or dark chocolate bite size. I really appreciate this gesture. Overall great service, I love the vibe, somewhat busy when I went but still has a relaxing atmosphere and I didn’t wait too long for my order. They have really good coffee and delicious treats. They also have a good size patio seating area and I bet it would be nice to sit and hang out there when the...
Read moreI don’t normally leave poor reviews, but we had a very poor first experience at this place. Ordered a few drinks for the hot chocolate festival (one of each). Quite a long wait, although it was fairly busy. Hard to know which order is which with lots of people waiting and no names taken, although that’s not unheard of at other cafe places. The “not hot hot chocolate” was good, and so were the little pecan chocolates that came with it, however the “kinda hot hot chocolate” was really bad. It was just a cup of whip cream (?) with a bit of chocolate on the bottom and was not even a hot drink nor spicy at all. Really terrible, I couldn’t even drink it. It appears the barista missed a step making the drink somehow, I don’t know what happened. We didn’t notice until we were out the door. Super disappointing especially for a special “event” drink and kind of put a damper on our whole outing. We love trying new places every year and we just didn’t have a...
