Sam's Chaat House — Restaurant in Surrey

Pathetic and very rude behaviours of the owner of the restaurant.

We were in the plaza and we saw that they posted “Unlimited Cholle Bhature offer”, we went inside the restaurant and checked with the server about the offer and she validated that we can avail this offer.

We ordered that, after which because it was an unlimited offer we asked for another plate. In total we could order 3 plates in total for 2 people.

We could not finish the 3rd one and asked if it was okay to take out as we don’t want to waste food, the server said “yes you can as we would also dump it anyways”.

We asked for the bill to check out and they charged us for 3 plates instead of 2!!

We asked for the explanation and looked at their answers!!

Server – was very rude and said because we ordered 3rd plate, they would charge us, if we would have asked for refill there wouldn’t have been any charge!!, we asked where it is mentioned and how is it logical, unlimited means unlimited, right even if we are taking another plate!! They knew that we were there to use that offer, they could have informed us about that, but they did not.

To me the most shocking thing was the owner’s behaviour.

Look at his comments –

“I don’t care about the reviews, wherever you want to complain you can.”

“I am not afraid of anyone.”

“People have this misunderstanding that restaurants need their reviews; we don’t require any customer reviews for Selling.”

He was so rude and was yelling at us.

We asked him politely to show his offer of unlimited advertising and explain about terms and conditions, but he didn't have any answer.

I wonder if the Restaurant Manager behaves like this with customers, what would be your expectations from the staff.

Great value with AYCE Chole Bhature.

For only $10.99 you get all you can eat chole bhature and one cup of Indian coffee or tea.

PROS: bhature was fresh and piping hot affordable and filling lunch clean interior Indian coffee tasted great plenty of free parking

CONS: Servers forgot about my Indian friend who ordered a 2nd plate of chole bhature. We had 2 servers who seemed super confused with the request my Indian friend was making regarding the unlimited chole bhature that he had to start speaking in Hindi to get his message across...and even so they would leave him hanging...😔. It sucked seeing my Indian friend go through that since he had just been heavily promoting Sam's Chaat House to me and showing me all these TikTok reels only to get disappointed by the servers. My Indian friend even skipped breakfast just so he can fully enjoy the unlimited bhature here. I really hope they sort out their service here since it seems inconsistent and honestly they have a great thing going for them with the food - if service improves then I can totally see this restaurant being even more popular.

For me personally, I thought the food was great and the service (for me) was decent but I have to drop my review to 3 stars since I was eating with a friend who unfortunately didn't get the same quality service as me.

I would also advise the restaurant needs better lighting. It would be great if this was a hookah lounge, but for a restaurant - I find it too dark...and as you can tell by my photo it makes the food look unappealing since the lighting is bad. Perhaps more interior lighting during the day then dim it down at night? 🤷‍♂️

Overall - this is a great hidden gem tucked away at a Surrey strip mall. The 'all you can eat' chole bhature...

Came here few months ago for the first time, just for a light tandoori snack. The seek kebab was amazing! Very well seasoned and flavourful. We also had gol gappe, and get this… they came pre-filled! I love not having to do any of the work, just dip it in the spiced paani (which comes in a bowl so you can very comfortably do so), and pop them in your mouth for an explosion of flavour.

We wanted to give this place a try at lunch time also so few days later we came for cholle Bhature. They were so fresh!!! Be careful, they come piping hot, but trust me, that’s where the freshness is guaranteed. And then they have a promotion where your cholle bhature are bottomless! Yes, you can eat as many as, well, you can eat! I could barely finish the two that it comes with.

Again, a few days later we came back to try their Amritsari Kulcha. I usually get the Aloo one. It comes on a tray with gajar Achar, raita, cholle, red onions with mint chutney. Plenty to sample and enjoy. I love their kulcha, it is full of flavour and ever so slightly crisp.

Service: absolute perfection! I am yet to find another south Asian restaurant with such amazing staff who smile as much, are as friendly and polite, who make sure you have everything you need and check on you throughout your experience. They are the pillar of this establishment.

Facilities: they have several washrooms along a hallways in the back, all of which are individual rooms (with toilets, sinks, mirrors, paper towel dispensers), for plenty of privacy, and well kept.

I feel I am a regular here by now, their food is wonderful and I would highly recommend them to anyone who been thinking to...
