Not sure why I keep coming back.... probably because they have a nice patio and sort of allow dogs. Chicken over cooked. Chewy. Fries were old and chewy. Pop had no carbonation. This has been the same every time I've come. And I couldn't get the waitress to come back till I stared her down for like 45 minutes. I know its busy. But all I wanted was a refill and a box to take my chewy overcooked food home. And the bill ...40 bucks for one person.
Let me edit my response to respond. I came in as a 1 person with a dog. I came to sat outside which was mostly full. They had 1 open table but it would've seated 6 to 8 people. But they didn't want give it to me understandably in case a large group comes. I said I would be eating quick and going and id move if a group came. They offered me a spot at the Hightop bar outside. Which is hard with a dog. That's why I made that comment. So I waited for a small table to open. No problem. I got seated ordered chicken fingers and fries. While I was waiting I thought maybe I'd ordered an app too. But she didn't come back till the food was ready. Np. I got my chicken fingers and fries. The grease hasn't been changed in a while because you can tell by how dark the chicken and fries are. They were chewy and over done. This is fried food. Pop was flat. I ate what I could. And tried to get her attention maybe 15 minutes after getting my food to get a box and lids to go. But I guess because im 1 person they dont come back to check on you. I waited and waited till she finally saw me. Asked for that stuff and the bill. And ordered mozzarella sticks to go. She left. I got the mozzarella sticks from another waitress. Asked for a box for them, she came back immediately with them. And waited another 20 mins. The waitress was confused as to what I need. I just said I was waiting on tbe box and lids for the chicken fingers. She came back with them. I paid and left. I was there probably an hour and a half when I could have been in and out in 30 minutes freeing up another table for another family. It was 230pm on a Wednesday. It was busy yes. But. Everyone was getting service. I come to crows nest multiple times a year. Im up in tobermory for 8 months of the year so I'm not a local but not a tourist. So yes I will take my business elsewhere lol This is a long response but based on your response. And. I didnt put free parking at the back because I didn't know if u did...? But theres definitely paid parking
Great response to overcooked Fried food and bad...
Read moreAbsolutely Disgraceful – Shameful Service Rooted in Discrimination I rarely write reviews, but the experience my family and I had at this restaurant in Tobermory compels me to speak up. We were a group of four—my mother, brother, close friend, and myself—visiting the area for the first time. After hearing glowing recommendations about this restaurant, we made it a point to dine here before ending our trip. Big mistake.
While we were seated fairly quickly despite the crowd, what followed was nothing short of unacceptable. We were completely ignored. Not a single server was assigned to our table, no one came to take our order, not even a glass of water was offered. To make matters worse, a table that was seated after us—right next to ours—was promptly given a server, had their order taken, and were served their food, all while we sat there waiting in disbelief.
Initially, I gave the benefit of the doubt. Mistakes happen, restaurants get busy. But what solidified my concern was seeing another brown family, seated well before us, also being blatantly ignored. Meanwhile, white patrons were being served without delay. I come from the hospitality industry myself, and I know what good service looks like—and this was far from it. What we experienced was not just neglect. It was racial discrimination, plain and simple.
It is both shameful and infuriating that in 2025, this kind of treatment is still happening in Canada—especially in an industry that’s supposed to be welcoming to all. This was hands down the worst service I’ve ever received, and a disgusting stain on what could’ve been a great end to our trip.
To the management: take a hard look at your staff and your service standards. No amount of good food or pretty views can ever make up for such disgraceful,...
Read moreWe had dinner with friends at the Crowsnest Pub — affectionately known by locals as “The Nest” — and it was nothing short of fantastic. As year-round residents of the Bruce Peninsula, we’ve eaten at just about every spot in town. Let me tell you: Crowsnest stands out in all the right ways.
First off, the menu is impressive — easily the best selection in Tobermory. Whether you’re craving something hearty or looking for delicious vegetarian options, there’s something for everyone.
Let’s talk drinks. REAL craft beer lovers, rejoice! The Nest serves actual craft brews on tap and in cans. We were thrilled to see they support 3 Sheets Brewing, a local gem from Port Elgin. I ordered the Idle & Coast Lager, which was crisp, clean, and perfect for a summer evening. My partner had the Puerto Elguino Cerveza, a flavourful nod to beach days — both brewed right here in Bruce County. It's refreshing to see local businesses support each other like this.
Now for the food: I had the Cracked Peppercorn Burger, and it was massive, juicy, and packed with flavour. I paired it with a Greek salad, which was fresh, well-dressed, and a perfect complement to the burger. My partner opted for one of their pizzas — hands down the best 'za in Tobermory (and we’ve tried them all!). Our friends raved about the vegetable samosas, which were clearly hand-made, fresh, and full of vibrant spice. The chicken wings also hit the mark — a full pound of tender, saucy goodness.
With a small town atmosphere, friendly service, and unbeatable food and beer, The Crowsnest Pub is a must-visit whether you're a local or just passing through. Grab a pint, order the burger, and enjoy the best view and vibes in town.
