EDIT: Even after my response, the management responds in a defensive and classless manner stating I'm responsible for the actions of my friends which I never witnessed or saw and I am to blame for them asking for cutlery. False accusations and terrible response to a situation they know they could fix by being decent people. Please listen to the 1 star reviews as they express sober sentiments...
Read moreIncredibly rude staff. They have a pizza vending machine on site that we ordered WITH the food we got from this restaurant, and they told us to leave after they saw the pizza with the 3 tacos and burrito + drink we got. Other people were eating the pizza there too and they didn’t tell them anything.
EDIT: After carefully reviewing the manager’s response, the same narrow mindset and pessimism that exists in person is clearly evident in their online presence too. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same manager who was rude to us is the person responding to me on google reviews.
To summarize our experience, we went to Las Chulas for dinner one evening and spent at least $150 before tips. We enjoyed the food at the time so much so that we even returned the next morning. The following morning, the manager was rude when I had friends ask for some simple cutlery. It blows my mind that this establishment has a pizza vending machine on site, but then tell people they can’t eat it on site either.
The review left by my friend was warranted. They didn’t leave a bad review because you didn’t want to give them a knife, they left a bad review because instead of trying to be accommodating, you were rude when they asked even after they purchased drinks from you.
The part that really left a sour taste in my mouth wasn’t the fact that I can’t eat food that I got from their property l, on their property. Or the fact that that when my friends ask for a knife, they’re met with nothing but short answers and dirty looks from management. What REALLY ruined my experience here was when the management saw the 1 star review that was left. Instead of approaching us with sincerity, asking how they can improve or even apologize, the manager decided to argue with us and try to explain how she did nothing wrong and that we are horrible customers. No consideration for the money we spent or the contributions we made to this local business.
There’s two things that I think need to happen if this business wants to stay around long: 1, that manager needs serious customer service training or to be removed from the company as clearly their views do not align. The second would be to get rid of that Pizza Vending Machine. It makes 0 sense to offer food somewhere then tell people they can’t eat it where they purchased it. Totally counterintuitive.
The cooks and waiters there are lovely people, the food is fantastic. The manager just sends her employees to do her dirty work and then comes and argues with their customers when her feelings are hurt. Extremely unprofessional. Never returning and making sure everyone I know won’t be...
