This is soooo amazing!

We had the opportunity — finally — to visit Tobermory.

Oh my golly — it was beyond incredible.

The staff at the Parks Canada building were awesome & the sites & hike phenomenal.

It was delightful to climb the lookout tower & partake of the breathtaking scenery from the well-appointed lookout tower.

The sounds of Lake Huron rushing into shore, colliding with the rocks was such a balm that we sat & listened to her for quite some time.

She is a beauty of a lake with personality to spare.

It was a splendid trip since we enjoyed solitude with it being off-season.

As we came down from the tower we met two folk climbing up & as we finished our hikes we met one person — that was the extent of seeing anyone. Bliss!

If you get a chance it is a most worthwhile trip — even in Fall.

P.S.

We traipsed into town but found most shops closed albeit there is a grocery store so pack a picnic lunch & take a thermos or two of coffee, tea, hot chocolate or whatever is your beverage of choice & water of course — to keep yourselves hydrated.

P.P.S.

Our puppers enjoyed herself immensely sniffing all the newfound scents.

She says for her review:

"Woof, woof, woof-woof-woof-woof awhrooo!"

Translation:

A great time was had by all — for...

We took a bike ride to the visitor centre to check out the museum and walking trails. We paid $9 for 1 adult and free admission for myself and my daughter as she has a disability and I am her carer. Anyhow, the museum is cute and informative. In addition, the trails are clean and well maintained. In all honesty, you could simply visit here to get an idea of what The Grotto is all about. There's a short hike to a lookout and you are able to get onto the rocks. There are little flower pots to see and the water is the same blue. You just don't need to...

The Parks Canada Visitor Centre offers a wealth of information and helpful staff who are passionate about the national parks. The exhibits are engaging and educational, providing a great overview of the local wildlife, history, and geology. It's the perfect starting point for planning your adventures, whether you're looking for a challenging hike or a scenic viewpoint. Highly recommend stopping here first to make the most...

Excellent visitors center with tons of information about the parks, hiking trails, activities and guides throughout. There's a fantastic little museum (I believe you need to have paid for park entry to visit but I'm not 100% sure) but the non-museum park center is free. Really cool history about the area as well as valuable information about local flora and fauna, and of course, polite and friendly staff plus clean restrooms.
