TLDR: Tasty Chinese place in a food court near the Sheppard Yonge subway station. Employees are kind but aren't really able to communicate in English so either be prepared to use Google Translate or know Mandarin to order 😅
-[BRAISED BEEF BRISKET IN SPECIALTY SESAME FLATBREAD] $9.95 🥪 This is extremely tasty and the beef inside is packed with flavor due to the savory sauce coating each piece of beef but is mixed in with cilantro (🙃) 🥪 I would have asked for no cilantro but my limited Mandarin only allowed me to confirm what I wanted to order and to thank the employee once my food was ready
📝 The employees there don't seem to understand English based on my one visit there but they are really kind and willing to try their best to communicate with you by using pointing and gesturing at the menu 📝 Might be best to whip out Google Translate if you aren't able to understand/speak Mandarin to try to aid yourself in ordering from here because it...
Read moreLamb was very tender and full of lamb flavour. Soup was extremely salty. I have medical problems and am on restricted salt. I also can't taste salt properly because of my medications so when something tastes very salty to me, it has to be extremely salty. I asked for no added/extra salt/MSG. Unfortunately, I could not eat the food. I had a tiny bit of soup diluted several times with water. I ate the meat. If it were not so salty, it would have been very good because it was full of lamb flavour. The braised pork in sesame flatbread was tasth and not as salty as the soup so I would order that again. It is quite fatty, which is why it is so good, but again, not if you are on ow fat diet for medical reasons. I do not recommend this restaurant for anyone on reduced salt or cholesterol diet but if you want to cheat, that's...
Read moreFood I ordered "The Lamb Soup" with noodles and really enjoyed it. The portion size was generous for the price. The flavours were subtle, warm, lightly savory, and felt nourishing without being too heavy or overpowering. I only wish I had more time to finish the broth.
Service The staff are Chinese. Although there was a slight language barrier, I had no trouble ordering or asking for a takeout bag. The lady who helped me was kind, which added a nice touch of authenticity to the experience.
Ambiance This spot is located in a food court with plenty of other dining options. Seating is available, but the chairs are quite uncomfortable. It seems like that might be intentional to encourage shorter stays. The location is very convenient and close to Sheppard and...
