I have been to this place for about 5 or 6 times and I tried many different dishes and I have to say this restaurant is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever been in Toronto and I have been to many good Chinese restaurants since I been here for 22 years. I decided to make this review after I tried their century eggs in roasted pepper sauce, I have no idea where the smoky flavor is coming from but my goodness I have never ever tasted a smoked century egg at all and it's absolutely incredible. I tried century eggs in many Chinese restaurants but this is the first time I tried a century egg that is smoky! It's ingenious, the smoke pretty much eradicated that strong ammonium flavor that you would get when you eat a regular century egg. This restaurant also made a soy sauce with vinegar and chilies and it's just mind boggling. Aside from this dish their dan dan noodles is just as good, it's so smokey that anyone can literally smell the smoke within sitting distance, you don't even need to put your nose close to the bowl and smell the smoke. Their sliced beef and beef tripe with chili sauce is the best sliced beef/trip chili sauce dish I had in Toronto too! Yang braised chicken makes a great sliced beef in chili sauce dish but this restaurant is even better, the beef trip is like jelly so the texture is incredible and the flavor is greatly infused with the sauce which you won't get in many Chinese restaurants. There skewers are also really good, it's so tender it can melt in your mouth and it has an amazing kick! I could write an essay that is 2000 words long analyzing their dishes and how good they really are. No words can describe how good this restaurant is, there are decent amount of restaurants in Toronto where you taste the food and taste good, but I am confident to say there are only very few restaurants in Toronto if not the whole world where not only the food tastes good but the food is so creative and unique that people can't help themselves to marvel at the ingenuity of the dish. Just because I said the food is creative and unique it doesn't mean this restaurant is not authentic, I believe they are, I lived with Chinese people for decades and ate food with them for years and went to Chinese restaurants for 2 decades. The way they approach all their dishes doesn't take away the authenticity but rather show their identity. There's a famous phrase where people say you can know people by the way they cook and it's really hard to truly feel the truth of that phrase, but if anyone goes to this restaurant, I am very certain you can truly feel the chef's identity and his or her view of the world by tasting their dishes. Many Chinese noodle restaurants have their noodles cut thick but this restaurant have their noodles very thin, which is similar to the texture of ramen noodles. I don't know if it's because of the thinness but the texture of this restaurant's noodles feels superior than all Chinese restaurants in Toronto. As a foodie, this restaurant keeps giving me a life changing experience and a humbling lesson that there is more for me to learn about cooking. The servers are very nice, and the owner of the restaurant is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and knows a lot about food. He gave me great details of how the dishes were made and if I had a chance I wouldn't mind listening to him talk about cooking for hours! Some restaurant owners don't have much passion about food and they barely want to talk to customers, but the owner gives time to talk to me when he can and he talks about food with great passion. Now, I ain't forgetting the ambience of the restaurant, it's really clean including the bathroom, spacey, and have great design! I really apologize to everyone for giving a long review, but if people have the time I hope they...

Read moreThis is my second visit to this place. I'm very picky about food and never come back for a second visit if it doesn't suit my taste. But this Sichuan noodle restaurant is different. It's staffed by young people, and the environment is clean and comfortable, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. What's more surprising is the young chef. He not only has excellent skills but also has a unique understanding of traditional Sichuan flavors. His attention to detail shows his patience and passion.
