A-OK Cafe is my all time favourite coffee shop by far. It may seem incredibly addlepated but I actively go out of my way to visit them in-mall just to have their coffee, make conversation with the staff, and take in the aroma. Luckily for me, I work right down the way from their CF Sherway Gardens location and Iâve made a habit of hiking down during any of my breaks or lunches. The ambiance of the cafe perfectly reflects the personality and charisma of A-OKâs staff. During my first few visits I was warmly welcomed by Jon, Alina, Tracy, and Jay â later meeting the rest of the staff; Angela, Zahra, Toghzhan, Anne, and I canât forget Alex. Everyone is incredibly relatable, down to earth, kind, and present in conversation, even when the cafe is busy on a Saturday they have all taken time to ensure our interaction is rounded out before moving on.
I cannot stress this enough, if you are looking to grab a coffee and need a break from the world, A-OK at Sherway is the little secret nook youâre looking for. You will be taken care of and the coffee is the richest, deepest, and most authentic taste in the area!
To the A-OK staff: thank you for your time, conversation, and heart. You folks unknowingly have supported me through a terrible time in my life and I will always hold that near and dear to my heart. This isnât a joke, your service is seen. You folks deserve all the recognition and I hope management acknowledges that. Thank you again, I am looking forward to coming in for my regular; Vanilla...
Read moreNice cafe, usually very warming atmosphere when you arrive but on Friday May the 8th around 7 pm I had a horrible experience with the 2 girls who work there. I was the only person standing in line with my newborn baby and I usually stop for a lychee drink when I shop but on this day not only were they more concerned about cleaning, they had their backs turned the whole time, saw me ignored me continued cleaning, then when they finally did acknowledge me they said sorry weâll be with you in a bit which they then continued to clean again. I was standing there for quite sometime, the one barista then finally finished and had the audacity to ask me if I have a question for her, at that point I told her that in the service industry esp when they are not busy one should attend customers and the other can continue cleaning, completely dismissed what I said and condescendingly says have great day, never took down my order. She was a very stuck up young lady with a lot of sarcasm, I then went to Starbucks and supported their business instead. Not sure who trained these girls but they both have terrible customer service and aside from them the other staff have always been on point and very pleasant but I donât think I will come back as long as these...
Read moreAhhh where to start. Very bad. NO LAPTOPS allowed, so please be aware that in case you have to come to do any work, in the 21st century in Canada this place forbids you to use your own device, whatâs next, cellphone forbidden? Ridiculous. This is not an elementary school but a small coffee place. The sign that laptops are not allowed is so small and barely visible so guess what, employees will not tell you that but they will first take your order and charge you. We specifically said we have some online work to do and asked if they have a wifi, the logical answer was NO, and after we paid and sat to open our laptops they told us that laptops are not permitted. Iâm wondering how this owner imagined that their employees would get tips and people would come back when this is the situation. Avoid this place!
Please stick to common-sense policies and donât make up new ones, and be more respectful to...
