I am a long time customer of Urban Barn Etobicoke. My husband and I have many items from here, and enjoy the store and the quality of items. I have been looking for couches and have browsed the store recently. The first occasion, and today I have never been approached on entering and walking around. Today, 4 sales associates were huddled around the centre cash while customers walked around. I spent some time looking and decided on a nice blanket; opting not the couch again as my patronage doesn't seem important enough to stop chatting away or fixing fabric swatches. I approached the cash and Neptune asked if I was getting anything else, no greetings. I said no, she asked for my postal code and I provided. She then asked for my first and last name with no explanation, I said no thank you, She replied to look up the customer profile and rolled her eyes and shook her head... I was surprised to even comment or cause a confrontation. She finished with the Checkout and make a point to say that my receipt won't be connected with my customer profile as we were finishing. To the owner/manager... You cannot continue to say you hold your associates to a high standard when there is no basic customer service, or even the remotest polite customer exchange. To ask for a postal code, then a first and last name with no other words at all are not appropriate. I had no idea there is a customer profile as my husband always checks out, nor would anyone without the shortest preamble or a new customer. The attitude from the eye rolling and the shaking of Neptune's head...
Read moreI have always been a fan of Urban Barn. Good selection of living room furniture and fixture.
Recently purchased 2 couches from them and couldn't be happier. My one complaint is that it took over 2 months to get the furniture but the associate was very helpful and kept us in the loop the whole time.
What I really liked was their "white glove service" -- Well worth the $$. The delivery guys were very professional, courteous and very careful with brining in the sofas, assembling them and removing all the boxes and packaging.
I cannot say enough about their white glove service. You pay a little extra for it -- but highly recommend. They were top notch and Urban Barn should let AMJ Movers what a great job these particular guys did.
My overall experience with Urban Barn was great and I would highly recommend them. Like I said, if you are purchasing a big ticket item, make sure you get an idea from the store when the furniture will be delivered. I thought it was an ALL Canadian manufacturing company, but it isn't.
They import certain things from Vietnam and other countries and it's good to ask them upfront exactly where the furniture is coming from. If it was made in China, I would not have bought it in the first place. We've had bad experiences from products which were made in...
Read moreWe had a big fiasco with Urban barn with a table we had ordered for our dining room. They had a table we absolutely loved but whenever it arrived, it was the wrong colour. Itwas supposed to be a warm brown and the actual table had too much black in. We had to return the table twice because the manufacturer kept messing it up. I won't go into all the details but eventually it was dealt with and we were told that we were entitled to a gift card as an apology for our troubles. We came to this location to pick up our gift card and the sales woman was amazing! She couldn't find the gift card at first, but she really took the time to look for it, and call customer service to find out if it was sent. Then we realized Urban Barn was still charging us for the delivery fees even though they were refunding us for the table. She called up customer service again and made sure the charges were taken off. She fought for us on the phone and made our case for why we shouldn't be charged anything. Happy to say we got our entire refund back as well as our gift card. It's too bad we weren't able to get our table, but I'm pleased with the customer service. I always find the in store people at Urban Barn to...
