This is a great place to share to share a meal with Family 👪 Friends 👭 or a Loved one 👫. Although it's not a HUGE restaurant, you won't feel cramped, they have booths and a few tables situated RESPECFULLY throughout the restaurant and with enough space between them so you don't feel like everyone can hear a conversation you're having with your table mate(s). This I appreciate 🙏 as I can't stand restaurants that try to maximize their profits by increasing tables to the max; which results in an environment that is too cramped, akward and not enjoyable. Sorry for the rant lol, now back to the review!
Upon arrival I was greeted with the smile and my friend and I were seated at one of their booths. They handed us the menu and we had a HARD time deciding because honestly, everything in the menu looked so delicious! We settled on Green & Red dragon rolls with Tuna Butterfish Sashimi.
While we waited, we were served green tea, noodle soup and miso soup on the house! This was so nice, the broth was so flavourful with depth of flavour! Not just watery and salty like some other places I've been too.
Once our food arrived, it was displayed beautifully on a wood board, great presentation! We had to be one of THOSE people and LOL we took a picture of the food for an instagram post, which you'll see attached to this review 😊 yummy deliciousness, soy sauce was presented in a traditional Japanese teapot with a side-handle. The spout allowed a controlled stream to pour just the right amount on to your food. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture but you can google it.
The waitresses checked on us several times in appropriate intervals to make sure everything was to our liking, which it was. To note: The booth we were at had curtains which could be pulled down for some extra privacy as well!
The bill came promptly when we asked for it and was a smooth process.
In summary, I would highly recommend this place! You won't be...

Finally able to dine in! Amazing service and food quality as usual.
Their signage still says ICHIBAN at the moment
Clean and spacious seating area
Ordered my hot pot of sake and Love Boat as usual.
Service from Chloe, the cute gentleman server was great. I remember him from the old location. They were very kind. Chef also came to say hi.
The Love Boat was fresh and nicely displayed. The hot soup noodle with tempura bits on the house was a nice touch. We also got a grilled salmon head and it was done to perfection.
Overall I'll always be a fan and return. 😍

I've been a fan of Akane for years and have visited all their locations.
The owner is absolutely lovely and welcoming. The service is always great.
The food quality never fails.
Love Boat - Small $52: It has a variety of sashimi, sushi and nigiri. My take out order came with miso soup and salad. Uni has been. Out of season for a while but I got to have it in this platter. There are also fried taro chips in the platter too. The fishes were fresh and delicious.
Overall I can't wait to have the dine in experience...
Read moreWe tried this place couple of times last year and even than it was so so..we just went for convenience at the time and was always quiet and always looked closed and LIFELESS. This places has changed hands so many times. They are charging regular to high prices and yet portions are small and quality is average at best. Service is not bad. The problem is these korean places lack decent english. We dined in and we even decided to order a bunch of stuff to take home. The most ridiculous bland plain effortless artless useless smallest green salad ever for $5 or something(kids portion). The sashimi was not very fresh. They didnt give any soy sauce in bag. Totally rushed presentation. We have been to and taken out from many sushi places and this place is light years behind and in there own world with what they are actually serving compared to other sushoi spots. This is one of those places you'll go once to try and may not go back because there isnt much that stands out compared to other places and once youve been to other quality trendy sushi spots. Clearly they are being very calculating with everything, typical korean mentality and trying to survive. If youre going to run a sushi joint either do it right or dont do it at all. They are counting everything they give out from the napkin to the chopstick to the ginger to every single thing. I even remember last time we went the portion were much better an they always gave something on the house. I might give them another chance.. who knows maybe it was just a bad day and the pandemic has not made...
