This place is extremely popular and is a Korean-style izakaya that attracts many Korean customers, which speaks to its authenticity and popularity. The dishes are very flavorful, and you can find some items that are rarely seen in other izakayas, such as soy-marinated raw shrimp.

The service after being seated was quite prompt, but the waiting process was a bit chaotic. People who arrived after us were seated before us, which is something I hope the restaurant can improve on.

88 Volcano Malatang ($38.88):

This hotpot is arranged in the shape of a volcano, with vegetables inside and beef around the outside. The flavor is similar to Sichuan-style boiled beef, but it’s less oily and still very flavorful. This dish is great for those looking to reduce fat intake, but it is a bit salty, so make sure to drink plenty of water.

Soy Marinated Raw Shrimp ($18.88):

Soy-marinated raw shrimp is a dish you don’t often see in other Korean restaurants. It has a sweet and salty taste, and the shrimp is tender and delicious. The only issue is that while the shrimp’s back vein has been removed, the inner vein hasn’t, so you might need to remove it yourself if that bothers you. I really enjoyed this dish, and the shrimp is already peeled, making it easy to eat.

Corn Cheese ($12.88):

This is a delicious sweet corn with cheese dish, reminiscent of mayonnaise mixed with corn, topped with grilled cheese....

I recently dined at 88 Salon korean Bar and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for night !!!! ❤️

The food is outstanding especially (octopus intestine soup!) with each dish crafted to perfection. The flavours are authentic, and the presentation is surprisingly good. Whether you're a fan of traditional Korean dishes or more modern fusion options there is something on the menu for everyone 🤤

Special mention must go to the manager, Alex who goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and well taken care of. His attention to detail and genuine care for the customers make a significant difference.

Staff were very kind and friendly. They were attentive to our table, making sure we always had a full water jug, removing plates we were finished with, and making sure we were alright.

Food was spectacular. Everything we ordered looked and tasted so good. We ordered cheese powder fries. Sour/spicy and green onion fried chicken - both had great flavour and the spicy was there but not over the top spicy. Beef and bean sprouts were good, but hoping there was more beef. Army soup was a hit, nothing to say at all other than we want more! Half and half pancake was good but not great.
