Update: Following my original review and a formal complaint email I submitted to the store, both the store manager and the branch manager personally reached out to offer a sincere apology. They assured me that the matter was taken seriously and committed to strengthening staff training to improve customer service.
While my initial experience was unpleasant, I genuinely appreciate the prompt and responsible response from the management. I would like to once again express my gratitude for their swift and sincere handling of this matter. I hope this incident will serve as an opportunity for Galleria Supermarket to further enhance its service and provide an even more positive shopping experience for all customers.
During my visit to Galleria Supermarket Thornhill, I experienced unprofessional and unfriendly behavior from a checkout staff member. I accidentally did not place the separation bar correctly, and when my mother politely said, “It’s up to here,” the cashier responded, “How would I know if you don’t show it?” while gesturing dismissively with both hands. Even after I immediately acknowledged and said, “I understand, I will do it correctly next time,” the staff continued to reprimand me.

Read moreDO NOT BUY FISH FROM THIS PLACE!! And I would be VERY careful about buying anything they are packing in the store! I got several kinds of fish for a soup, the fish was in the freezer for one day, then I defrosted it by boiling. Before cutting the cooked fish, I tasted one of the pieces to make sure salt was good. I got a horrible chemical taste as if I just drank floor washing g liquid. Of course, I threw up and washed my mouth, but it looks like I got a mild chemical burn on my throat. I tried treating it at home, but an hour later, I still feel it, but a bit less. When I initially took the fish out of the package, there was no smell of any kind. After it cooked, I guess it got released because when I smelled the fish closely (unfortunately after tasting it), it smelled like floor washing liquid! I took it to the store, and customer service simply threw it out without smelling it, told me with a smile that "fish smells," and that I missed the time for refund. I didn't even get an appology. Not to mention that I had thrown away ALL the fish I got from them because it was all cooking together, and I didn't want to risk eating fish that was cooked in chemicals. Read moreThis is a review on the take-out foods. I ordered sashimi tray, sushi tray, fried squid, hongehoe, jellyfish salad etc. for my father’s birthday party. The total was $270.
Sashimi tray: It came in each row of salmon, melded fish egg, white fish (I don’t know the name), cooked octopus. Each piece was too big.
Sushi Tray: The rice was hard and cold. Everyone agreed that it must have been made the night before. No proof though.
Hongehoe: I barely found fish that were berried the heap of veggies.
Jellyfish salad: Again, It was literally veggies dish with jellyfish barely found.
Fried Squid: The batter was soaked in oil and the squid was hard.
I complained to the customer service on my next visit on October 14, 2021 and was told that it had never happened to them. I requested to talk to the manager. She said she would convey the message. I doubt that she did. So I decided to upload this review.
It is fair to say that my party was ruined because everyone was hungry after the meal.
