I came here with a group of 4 and was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The place was very busy for such a small restaurant so prepare to wait a little if you plan on going during rush hour. I went at around 6:30 pm and was seated immediately but we got the last table.
The food: The food was amazing. We were served with complimentary fresh hot buns that were amazing, straight from the over. The menu wasn't too extensive but there are a few things I did want to try, Their menu ranges from Souvlakis to burgers to fish as well as pizzas. I had ordered the pork souvlaki with fries. The price was a little hefty but for the quality and portion of the meal I would say it was worth it. The Pork was cooked just right, the fries tasted homemade and were cooked just enough. The salad was very colorful, it was a true greek salad, tho I was not a big fan of the goats cheese (not a big cheese fan). Next time I'll ask to omit the cheese (and there will be a next time).
The restaurant: The restaurant has a very nice homey feeling to it. It definitely has the family restaurant feel to it. The restaurants been around for a while but the interior has been modernized and everything looks nice and clean. The restaurant is suitable for everyone including small children. If you are going in groups larger than 6-7 you may want to call ahead or you may have to wait a bit longer as it is a small restaurant, not very suitable for very large groups.
The service: At first went we were seated I didn't think the service was all that great but as we got to know the waitress she was making jokes here and there and was very kind despite having to work very hard to keep up with everyone. She put lots of effort into every table and we were very grateful for it.
Bottom Line: Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Price is not cheap but around average. For my meal I payed $20.XX +tax. Definitely give it a try. There is also an outside eating area for when...
Read moreWe were two women, looking to enjoy dinner. Male host/waiter called from a few tables away that if we were two, there were no tables and we should come back 'tomorrow'. I asked about a table for 4 which had two small tables pushed together and he said it is for 4 and walked away. I said that we'd wait. He said that no one was leaving. We said we weren't in a hurry and we sat at the one table for 2 right in front of the door. It was a very cold night so we kept our jackets on and waited patiently. When he saw that we were waiting patiently for any inner table of 2, to leave, I saw that he separated that table that I'd previously mentioned to him and told us we could sit at one of the tables for 2. For what purpose did he not just seat us there from the get go? Not sure but it was already 7 pm and very few people were arriving. When serving us, he definitely wasn't pleasant. We also noticed that 4 women were at a table next to us and one of them complained about a hair in her pizza and she asked what he would do for her. He said he'd give her dessert and added that she's definitely not getting a free pizza. He just wasn't pleasant and I heard them mumbling about him when he walked away from them. Anyhow, the Greek salad is excellent and the souvlaki and pizza are really really good as well. Just tune out the poor attitude which we did and enjoy your...
Read moreWhat a waste of time! First time I almost tried this place.
I walked in and ordered a Greek Salad and a chicken skewer and was told it would take 30 minutes... I have no clue if their food is any good. Best Greek food in Toronto is on the Danforth... Everywhere else is weak, why would I wait for 30 minutes to eat garbage Greek food. Anyway, someone must like this place considering its still in business, despite how rude the staff are and that they cook their chicken skewers in an Easy Bake Oven.
Update I was just reading some other other reviews and it reminded me of this 50 year old lady with short blond hair... Like all the other reviews this lady is the reason I walked out!!! Brutal, she must be the owner or family because she is literally the main complaint at this restaurant. Very rude and abrasive! She the one that told me it would take 30 minutes. I asked her for clarification regarding a salad taking 30 minutes to make. She responded in such a flippant dismissive tone... And that's when I walked out.
Businesses need customers; They sell products to make money. Either no one is reading these reviews or there is no way to fire her or curve her behaviour. Clearly business is being lost, but it would appear no one...
