Allan’s Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Toronto

Today I went to this location and there were three huge red flags. First, the sign out front no longer includes "Allans"; second they are now "also" selling Michidean patties and third when I asked for a hot patty - no chicken/no goat - only spicy beef - it was around 11AM and I never saw that before. I suspect (per the review by Ali a couple of weeks ago) that either Allans was bought old or they sold the business. Possible that for the great Allan patties --- the end is nigh. I personally dislike the Michidean patties. I bought a box of frozen Allans spicy beef (didn't enquire on others - but that would be a tell if Chicken/Goat do not exist) and taste wise they didn't seem different so perhaps for now Allan's spicy beef continue. Five for quality but lack of hot 'n ready - 4 star and possible further concerns...

Bought a dozen patties, they take only cash so I gave them a $20. it was 18 so she starts to give my twoonie back, so I tell her to keep it and give me a cooked patty which was listed for $2. She continues to hand me back my $2 and says sorry its $2.10....I look at her in disbelief. I reiterate to her that I just bought a dozen, i want to buy a single thats listed for $2 (just as the dozen is listed for $18) im short 10 cents because they only deal in cash, and that even with the 10 cent short fall they are making more than enough profit on my transaction. She continued to tell me sorry and refused to let me off 10 cents. I now understand why they are still in this beatdown strip mall and seemingly...

DO NOT buy their beef patties. This week I bought a dozen beef and after opening the box I saw that they looked and tasted different. They tasted more like the frozen, grocery bought ones. I ended up throwing them out because my guests took a bite and did not eat them. I went back the next day to ask why their patties changed. They said that they’re selling a different brand of mild patties. I told them that they should have mentioned this before I purchased it. They didn’t seem to care and continued doing what they were doing and turned their backs while I was talking. Very poor customer service!!! Don’t waste your money on their patties.
