Baker & Scone on St. Clair Avenue West is a delightful bakery that truly excels at its namesake. Their scones are simply divine! Light, fluffy, and buttery, they offer a perfect balance of flavors and textures. I highly recommend trying their lemon currant or cheddar chive dill varieties - you won't be disappointed. The shop itself is charming and inviting, with a warm, cozy atmosphere that makes you want to linger over a cup of coffee and a freshly baked treat. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to offer recommendations or answer any questions you may have. Whether you're a scone aficionado or simply looking for a delicious pastry to enjoy, Baker & Scone is definitely worth a visit. It's a true gem on St. Clair Avenue West!

Have to admit that I was a little wary to try as so many reviews commented on unfriendly service but so glad I did. The service was excellent!! Everyone was so friendly, warm and welcoming. The scones are outstanding. Our little one loved the confetti sprinkle scone. We tried chocolate babka, lemon curd and salted caramel. Lemon curd is a must try. Babka and salted caramel were also delicious. Really appreciate that they serve it on plates with a little pat of butter. Also picked some GF scones up for Family member with celiac. And some savoury scones for later! There is bar seating at the window and three tables. Quaint, cozy and highly recommend!!

Best scones around and that I've ever had!! I am a super repeat customer I just haven't been throughout the pandemic. The hours are currently 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. so it's more difficult to make it during that time. But I've tried so many different flavours and they are also great! Today I tried raspberry white chocolate and it is absolutely delicious! The staff is really lovely and they were wearing masks. There is also a divider up between the customer and the stuff. There are signs posted everywhere for safety. They have tons of other products on sale check out my photos!

Was told today by one of the staff that they basically don't care about the customer... SHOCKED!

I was in line to pick-up an order I placed a few days in advance for Mother's Day. Before getting in line I asked some of the people waiting if they were picking up pre-orders or waiting to place an order. There were people in line for both so, I just got in the line and waited. I expected a line since it was Mother's Day + the times we're in. After 20min in line with little movement I see a new person walk up to the door and pick-up there pre-order in under 30 seconds. With that, I went to the door and did the same. Someone was standing there who's sole purpose was to let people in once someone left and hand out pre-orders. I gave them my name and got my order right away.

I told the older lady that she should probably pop out of the store to give people instruction so that those who placed orders in advanced didn't have to wait. I KID YOU NOT, WORD FOR WORD, her answer was "oh, I don't care" in a passive aggressive tone.... shook!! I said to her that I was one of those people waiting for 20min and she then said "oh, then I do care" and proceeded to walk outside and call people with pre-orders to jump ahead.

Never have I ever thought someone would so blatantly say they didn't care about a customer (especially in the service industry).

The scones are great and I've been going for years but, I don't care to support a business who has that type of respect for their customers. Happy to find a new place and open for...

Scones are great as everyone says here.

The customer service is close to none!! I asked which scone they recommend and she audaciously ignored me and asked me "so which one are you getting?" There was another staff who was seemingly new and very disoriented. The original lady which I later found is the business owner, disappeared to the back of the store and I asked him where my scone was and he was like "I don't know" and still making me pay for what I didn't have in hand ... In addition they gave me wrong flavour to the tea from what I ordered ...

I have noticed a huge difference in their customer service based on the skin colour by the owner. I observed that they don't make conversation with racialized ones including myself. Very racist which makes me so resentful and disgusted!!

This was my second time and I am very disappointed and I doubt I will come back here unless I am dying for a cone :p No way to support...

Great scones, awful customer experience when it gets busy and not too subtle undertones of racism. This is not the place it used to be.

On the latest visit, they could not get my order right no matter how many times I repeated it. Then complained that it was my fault because I was not providing the order based on questions they were asking and they were tired and busy. I had already repeated my order 5 times and offered to write it down for them but they did not have paper & pen available. They were downright rude. All in all a bizarre and disappointing customer experience after being a long time patron. Will find my scone fix elsewhere in future.

Also noticed the white customers were not being treated as poorly. There is definite undertones of racist behaviour as another...
