We had a quick bite at Banh Mi Boys as it was conveniently located near our hotel. The menu is a decent size, and you purchase the Banh Mi sandwiches separate from the sides. The prices are okay for the portion, however it would be nice if the sandwiches came with a little more of the vegetable slaw toppings, as the bun to topping ratio was a little much. Our sandwiches came out quickly and were warm. We tried one each; I went with the Spicy Pork Belly Banh Mi, and my significant other chose the Squid. My sandwich was really good; the flavors were fresh and delicious. I went with the medium spicy, which was a spicy sauce. It was just enough spice for me. I would have liked to see more of the slaw/toppings on the sandwich. My significant other’s Squid Banh Mi was also very good, and he went with the spicy option of adding jalapenos. He also wished for a little more of the toppings. Banh Mi Boys was good for a quick counter service option to dine in or take out. My only issue was probably the cleanliness of the place; there was food on the floors and crumbs on the tables, and the garbage was overflowing. The kitchen looked clean and our food was good, but with the lack of cleanliness in the dining area, it was hard not to feel a little put off.

I had the pork belly banh mi and the tofu fries. Prefacing that I feel conflicted giving a 2 cause it might be harsh, but I don't think I can actually give anything higher based on stuff I talk bout later. The bread and pickles in the banh mi were standard, crunchy bread and strands of sweet pickles. The pork belly was tender and I love the aroma of 5 spice. I personally don't like the raw cucumber because I don't think it adds more freshness than the pickles do and I think it actually takes away from other flavours by "diluting" them almost. I also want pate in my banh mi but I don't expect a place like this to put that in theirs. Tofu fries were a bummer, good fries and sauces, but the tofu pieces were too big and I found 5 literal hairs in my fries. And while the banh mi was definitely a good sandwich and I would/will get it again, the price feels high for one when I know I could get one for 4.50 somewhere else. That said I enjoyed this one better than ones I would get for cheaper.

I tried Banh Mi Boys few times already and everytime the food was fresh and very flavorful. I love the Kimchi Fries with grilled chicken, it was totally delicious and filling 👌. The Kalbi Beef Taco was tasty too, but don't expect the Kalbi to be like the classic juicy Korean Kalbi (that doesn't mean it was bad, it was still good). I also had the Fried chicken steamed Bao multiple times and every time I eat it, it feels like I'm eating Crispy Chicken wrapped in a piece of cloud. The steamed Bao is just sooooo fluffy and warm. Totally a hit😊 Last but not least I also tried the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi and my only complain about it was the way they put it together. The grilled chicken was all the way in the bottom of the bun and all the pickled carrots, cilantro and Jalapeno slices were right on top, which means whenever you bite you either only get veggies or meat. Overall, definitely a place worth trying and maybe becoming a loyal customer lol 👌

Let me start off by saying I am a long time, regular customer of Banh Mi Boys. I've introduced many of my friends to eat here as well because I normally really enjoy the service and food here.

The service here usually is very good. For a place that normally gets very heavy traffic the employees are usually patient and at the very least polite. Because it is usually so busy I can even understand if the service is a little subpar. However, what happened to me today was beyond unacceptable.

I can honestly say this was the worst service I have experience to date. I always have an order of kimchi fries wherever I go here and the fries I got today were downright burnt. I thought perhaps this batch of fries was just left in the fryer too long and asked the cashier if he could remake it for me. At this point I was not particularly upset, I can understand a couple of bad batches happening from time to time, but what happened afterward is what caused this to be a truly horrible experience.

The cashier’s name was Don. Don bluntly refused to consider remaking my kimchi fries, proceeded to argue with me that the fries were not burnt and the fries are in fact supposed to be that colour (dark brown with some fries on the verge of being black). I told him I was the one that was eating the fries and I could taste the burntness of it. If he tried the fries, he would taste it as well. He said he is will not taste it (which I understand, since I've taken a bite out of it) but, what he said afterwards was most shocking. He actually said, "Would you like me to vomit on your fries and then give it back to you because that's what's going to happen if I taste your fries."

Seeing that Don will refuse to remake it for me, I asked for a refund. He told me that he refuses to give me a refund because he believed there was nothing wrong with the fries. I asked to speak with the manager and he told me he's the manager of the place in which I highly doubt considering the nasty service. When I asked to speak with the owner of the place, he simply just gave me the store number and told me to call the store when the owner is in. When I asked him when will the owner be in, he said he “doesn't know”.

I understand that this is most likely an isolated incident and I do really enjoy the food and the regular service there. However, the thought of having a repeat of that experience makes me hard pressed to eat there again, never mind recommending or bringing friends there again. As a student going to Bahn Mi Boys for some good (and more importantly affordable) food was part of very nice routine I had going, which makes this experience particularly upsetting for me. I won’t want to consider going back after a long day of classes and studying anymore, I won’t want to go...

Awesome Asian Fusion Fast Food place! Very good service and of course very good food there

Even though there is a small amount of food on the menu, the taste and the amount given is amazing!

Best of all! It's in Toronto! I love going there and experiencing all of food in he city and every corner you go to there is always something different.

But what I recommend is the pork belly baos. First time I ever had pork belly there and at first when I thought of pork belly, I thought of the food being really fatty, so I tend to avoid pork even though it is pretty awesome. When I first had the five spice pork belly Bao, it was amazing! It wasn't fatty at all and it was like pulled pork when you bite into it. Very savoury and I can identify all the items inside the Bao, from the sauce to the pickled daikon and carrots. It's phenomenal!

Second favourite is the Banh Mi. I first asked for the pulled pork Bao at the beginning but there was a communication error that happened between the clerk and I but it wasn't a bad move! The Pulled pork Banh Mi was equally amazing just like the Bao but bigger and with a baguette! (I love Baguettes!) After getting my sandwich, I went out and ate upstairs in the barbershop above to watch some Fresh Prince of Belair lol. But the food was amazing never the less and I would continue to go there every time...
