Decided to try this new restaurant that just opened. I heard about it through instagram! The restaurant was very new, clean and nice design. The staff are all very friendly and good service!

We got a braised beef soup noodle, a dry , and the soup dumplings.

Braised Beef soup noodle: this was very yummy but still way too spicy for me so I only ate half. Although the server has warned me it was very spicy I thought I’d try it. She knew I thought it was too spicy and offered for some plain soup to have with my noodles which was so accommodating. But I didn’t take the offer as I was half way through and getting full. The noodles were bouncy and very yummy texture and big portions. (See picture.)

Dry noodles: my husband had this said it was also very spicy but very good along with the noodles were very bouncy and tastey as well. (See pictures.)

Pork soup buns: these were very yummy, I really liked these, would def try this again. (Forgot to take pic of this.)

Everything in the menu was very affordable, although I couldn’t handle most of the spicy dishes I got, next time I would go back for dishes that aren’t spicy:). A tip for the menu for items that are super spicy to show 3 spicy icon beside it instead of 1 chilli icon that would be helpful for people like me who don’t know the full spice level. I do like some spice but didn’t expect that much. Also some pictures would be helpful to see what the dishes look like. Overall the food , service and cleanliness were very good! I’d def come back to try the other dishes...

Great Food, Comfortable Space & Kid-Friendly Atmosphere!

We had a wonderful experience at Bao House! The restaurant has a stylish and inviting interior with plenty of comfortable seating. They offer large round tables, making it a great spot for bigger groups. We visited as a family of four, including two kids, and found it to be very accommodating. It’s also stroller-friendly, and they have high chairs available, which made dining with little ones much easier.

The food was fantastic, and for around $80, we got a generous amount of delicious dishes. The house noodles were a standout—so flavorful that even our kids couldn’t get enough! The crispy tofu had a perfect crunch, and we used the extra sauce as a dip for our dumplings (highly recommend trying this). We also ordered two portions of boiled dumplings (great value for the price), choosing the chicken & corn and chive fillings. The soup dumplings and mini fried soup dumplings were another big hit, especially with the kids. To top it off, we enjoyed the red bean steamed buns, a tasty way to end the meal.

Ordering is done through your phone, which is super convenient since you can see the total cost before placing your order. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

Overall, Bao House is a fantastic choice for families—great food, a comfortable setting, and a welcoming atmosphere for kids. Highly recommend...

I was looking for an affordable spot in North York when I came across Bao House. I recognized the name from their downtown location and Instagram but had never tried it before. Given how pricey eating out in Toronto can be, I was hoping this would be a good find—and it was!

We ordered the Pork Pot Stickers, Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings, Spicy Braised Beef Soup Noodles, Spicy Deep Fried Tofu, and Chicken Corn Dumplings. The tofu and noodle soup were the clear highlights. The tofu had a perfectly crisp exterior, a soft interior, and a sauce that was sweet, spicy, and savoury. The noodle soup was flavourful, generously portioned, and easily shareable.

The dumplings, unfortunately, were a letdown. The pot stickers had a good texture but needed more seasoning. The soup dumplings seemed machine-made, with thick wrappers that soaked up too much liquid. A little trick—dipping them in the tofu sauce—helped add some extra flavour!

Service was great. The staff was friendly, and they even offer bibs and aprons for those prone to soup splashes. The best part? The price. In a city where dinner for two can easily top $100, our entire meal was under $40, and we had leftovers (which we forgot to take with us).

While this isn’t the best Chinese food in Toronto, it’s tasty, satisfying, and incredibly affordable. If you’re in the area, Bao House is...
