Been a fan of Bonimi's pretty much since they opened, but feel a couple of things keep me from awarding it a perfect five-star rating- I will elaborate below. We used to have more (and better) Serbian/Yugoslavian options in the city, but some were lost to Covid (RIP, Flamingo- you were the best), and others perished before then for... reasons. With that said, I believe Bonimi has taken the crown and has remained the golden standard for Serbian food in Toronto/the GTA for several years now. While I've sometimes perceived their consistency to be slightly lacking, they overall do a good job of ensuring it's as stable as possible, so I can't really fault them there. My only gripes really are with their pricing and interior. I feel the pricing borders on being almost exploitative for certain things, as two folks can very easily drop $150+ at this spot which isn't very premium looking or feeling, I'm sorry to say. There is a disconnect between what things here cost and how/where they are presented. That brings me to my point re: the interior... Guys, respectfully, with what you charge for this simple "back home" cooking (which we all adore), would it kill you to throw a fresh layer or two of pain on the walls? Considering how small a place you have (and how many seats are crammed in), everything is more noticeable to your customers. Aside from the walls with extensive paint wear/chipping in various spots, I think you could really benefit with a little bit more decorating (or dare I suggest, hiring an interior decorator, though I don't know if Serbs believe in spending money on such a thing, haha!). Oh, and sometimes I think they forget to leave the music running... and, well, with the natural acoustics/reverberation of the tiny room, that can be particularly unpleasant; you feel like you're on display at a monastery. Please keep the music running. Overall, as mentioned, it's my favourite Serbian restaurant in the city of the past several years- is it the very best I've had? No, but it's the very best we've got here, even if at a cost higher than it ought to be imo. I will continue to frequent and to introduce friends, all of whom routinely leave blown away by how great the...
Read moreOn a NEW YEAR's EVE 2018, which is a day for Orthodox populate to celebrate their new year, my destiny brought me in this restaurant Bonimi. For the reason, not having my IRON at home, because it stopped working before I went somehwere and on the way back ordered one, but in the meantime how to make my pants in order, to get forth to visit in addition ZAM restaurant. My decision in this case was good, as at Bonimi were offering a large number of Yugoslavian or could be called Mediterranean food, which was served exceedingly passionate. My order of two portions of CEVAPI, kupus and 4S bread, make me remember type of my background. Very taste BRESKVIN juice, made my natural feeling more close to the culture. Of course, something sweet, couldn't leave without trying, and those were palacinke with marmelade and ORASI, but I recommend you to order the same , so instead marmelade with it, order DJEM in a dark red colour, so called domaci DZEM iz Njegovudja. For my belly, it was a lot of food, with full stomach coming back home. Probably would be perfect to order two orders of palacinke, instead of two of those mentioned. Don't look at about overeating for a time of an event, in a view of the fact that this is trying and learning more about the culture, and then you will have the ability to find out where you last time ate the best KUPUS at the restaurants outside the Native country. As a Montenegrin background, haven't find suvi prsut and sir, but something would be adding to that meals, such as AJVAR which is extremely important for our food menus, where they could give on the side one spoon of it, without giving up so much ketchup and Frankenstein. This was my first place to feel comfortable eating in this city. At the other places, many keep hanging on to me.

Read moreWe ordered the food and everything tasted like back in the old country, only better. The Kremenadle was delicious! It was 2 beautiful large pieces of juicy porkchops, and melted in my mouth. With coselaw and potatoes. It was the best I’ve had outside of the former Yugoslavia or anywhere-honestly. And we travel all over, looking for Balkan restaurants, this one is the best! My husband had the karadjordje svinjska and he said it was so good he couldn’t remember the last time he had it taste that good. My teenagers each had 10 Cevapi and they ate all of them. All 10 pieces! The restaurant itself is not big, but don’t let that fool you. It looks smaller on the outside, but on the inside and where it really counts (the food), it is huge! We loved it and unfortunately only stayed in that area 1 night otherwise we would have been there each day! Great food, my compliments to Sinisa and the rest of the awesome staff and wonderful chefs there! 2 months later we were in town again and decided to stop at our favorite restaurant. This was our second trip to Bonimi. We had 4 Shopska salads, 3 orders Cevapi and a Krmenadle and Lepinja so Kajmak. The food was fresh, the meat was delicious and service was nice as well. Thank you Sinisa! We would come to the restaurant multiple times a week if we didn’t live 4 hours away. We should have taken more pictures but it was so good the minute the plate touched the table the...
