First time I went to any Bulk Barn after the Covid.
I went to Superstore first because I wanted to buy things that were sealed. However they did not have them so I went to Bulk Barn a few stores down to look for them.
I was happy to see that they had disposable gloves in front along with hand sanitizer. I was greeted by the female cashier. I asked her where I could find the items and she directed me to the right locations. So far so good....Well everything went downhill after that!
I got a few things and to my surprise the amount was much more than what I think my bill should be. I walked out from the store and looked at my receipt....I knew I was being overcharged! So I decided to re-enter the store and looked at the prices on top of the bins. I discovered that prices on the bins of ALL the items that I purchased were lower than what the receipt indicated (ie. amount per kg price on the tags were all lower than the amount per kg on my bill). I bought the attention to the cashier who tried to tell me I was wrong. I showed her pictures of the price on the bin and she finally got another guy to "deal" with me by taking me to another cash. I explained the whole thing to him all over again. He then went to check all of the items that I purchased and collected the yellow tags (sales items with a lower price) as 2 of the items I purchased were on sale. He tried to tell me whatever in the system is the right price. I told him it's against the law to falsely advertise! He finally agreed to give me my money back for those 2 sales items and offering his "explanation" that someone forgot to take the yellow tags off after the sale period was over. He then took the yellow tags stapled with the refund. I told him I was not buying his "explanation" as the prices of all the regular price items I purchased were being overcharged as well. He then went to collect all the white tags (regular price) of the items that I purchased. After seeing the price on tags were lower than the price that I charged, he tried to tell me he would have the owner to "investigate".
I ended up teaching him how to do math so I could get my refund (close to 20% of my total bill). Then he made me go back to the first cash to do the refund. I got no apology from either of the staff.
If you plan to buy anything from this store, make sure you check the price per kg on the tag then compare that with your receipt. Don't get cheat out of your hard...
Read moreI usually shop at this Bulk Barn before or after work and usually everything is good, they're well stocked and are friendly.
Today I was incredibly disappointed to see that 6 days before Halloween they have completely removed almost all of their Halloween candy products, and more importantly their manager was so rude to the staff that I definitely didn't want to linger or peruse. Even when he passed me in an aisle he didn't say excuse me he didn't offer me any assistance. He was unkind and unfriendly and whether he's the manager or the owner I don't know if I want to continue shopping here because of the way he treated his staff.
However, the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and very helpful. Definitely have mixed feelings shopping here until management/ownership...
Read moreDon’t ruin your day by going to this horrible place. I went there today to return a bulk product that didn't taste right. The guy there was so aggressive, rude and wouldn't even let me talk. He refused to give me a refund. I asked him where on the receipt it says no return for bulk items. He would not explain. He kept yelling at me 3 times “ Are you hearing me? We don’t return bulk. Are you hearing me” This is my question to BULK BARN: What kind of customer service is this method of yelling at the customer and being rude and aggressive? What should we do with the bulk items don’t taste right and they are...
