On August 11th a group of 9 young ladies were publicly slandered by your security personnel Ryan and Jeremey, while waiting in line to be seated to eat at your establishment. They were falsely accused of theft on a previous visit to your establishment. Even once they showed proof, by producing their credit card receipts of payment on the previous visit, the security guard did not offer a public apology. Rather than simply admitting their mistake as loudly as they had made the accusation, they continued with the defamation of character charade while all the other people waiting in line looked on. The security personnel claimed to be just doing their job, saying they were told to confront and accuse the ladies. The young ladies requested multiple times to face their accuser, but that did not happen. Recorded videos of the entire situation show so the young ladies calmly requesting to speak to whoever was responsible for the accusation, only to be accused of being rude to the security guard, and of trying to play the race card. (By the way: Islam is a religion, not a race. You may want to educate and inform your staff members. Members of the white, black, yellow or red races may all practice Islam). An on-duty manager finally came forward, and was recorded quietly admitting the false accusation had been made by another manager who was not at the establishment that evening. She haphazardly apologized and admitted the error, but made the excuse that “dine and dash” incidents do happen frequently to them. There was no satisfactory conclusion to this unnecessary scene which was very poorly handled by all staff members of the establishment. The accusation was made loudly in front of a lineup of people, causing great embarrassment to the young ladies. The manager’s admission of error and sort-of-apology-with-an-excuse was made quietly off to the side, out of public view. These young women are upstanding Canadian born citizens attending university in Toronto. There was no need to treat them in this manner. Customer relations is apparently not a strong suit for your establishment. It is a great disappointment to see such a horrible scene take place. If your staff are going to publicly make false accusations and defame the character of customers, your apology for the error should be as public...
Read moreThe bartenders here are so disgusting customers service is zero stars. They’re slow and cannot work under pressure. I don’t like how the hand held metal detectors only come out for “black events” “soca events” …….. soca events are the most non risk violent events to date. I was also given that information BY SECURITY. I was at the bar and there was a line which is fine mind you i AM a bartender myself for a different club… I said excuse me to the bartender and asked if chaser was an extra charge or is in included she said “it’s included. But there’s a line up” I said “yes that’s fine I just had a question” she said “ well your question has been answered you can wait” I was generally confused if you can’t work under pressure you should never be a bartender. I was wearing half cut shades so my eyes look over the glasses I was looking at her genuinely confused and she said “WHY ARE YOU GRILLING ME” again genuinely confused because hence the glasses there’s no other way for me to look at you and along with the 18 million people starring at you making a drink why are you not asking them why they’re grilling you were all waiting for you to hurry up and serve the next person but she insisted to ONLY WORRY about me ……….. confused again. So I told her go ahead and make their drinks they’re waiting.. she said to me “don’t tell me what to do don’t tell me how to do my job” again genuinely confused because your job is to make drinks and instead you’re upset that I am wearing half cut shades and looking at you ….. I asked for the manager and she wouldn’t call them the bar back boy came over to me and said he’s really sorry about all this and he wishes he could help I said you didn’t do anything wrong I’m legit just waiting …even other guest we’re telling her to serve the next person we were ALL WAITING doing the same thing looking at HER. She then came back over and yelled at me that I didn’t tip her… well I TIP on GOOD customer service … secondly I was TOLD by another bartender that the tip is already included so she just being greedy at this point this was the bar located as soon as you walk out to the patio and she was working on the til that would’ve been...
Read moreDisappointed, and regret we haven’t read the reviews before going. We called about 2 months in advance to make a reservation for our anniversary. At the entrance there was a gloomy host who acted like he was tired to do his job and (oh no!) we also came to bother him. Then we were seated at a hideous tiny table (I want to reiterate - we called 2 MONTHS in advance for an ANNIVERSARY) and found out that the pool is closed for guest access on weekends - we specifically asked over the phone if it was open and there was no mention of weekend private parties from the person taking the reservation, NOT COOL (felt a little odd sitting in my swimsuit there ahah).
We were aware of the $60 minimum but we were not aware there’ll be nothing to eat. The menu and prices are just plain desperate (the maintenance of this place must be a drag, especially in these times, right? But you have to respect your patrons, and then they’ll help you maintain) awful tasteless sushi, my bf had an average sandwich (any food truck would do a better buttermilk chicken, any), and okay pizza. But a lot of folks here post and ask management to look into food and fix it, and I highly highly doubt that entire management cares at all about guests since they got this unique giant space where people would be interested to come regardless of whether they put effort into the venue or not.
I only haven’t mentioned the 20% mandatory tip yet but thankfully our waitress was the only one I can’t complain about.
And then I see some people are being offered to write an email to management. All I have to say is: Please sit in your own chairs for 2 hours until you get sore, then try to get attention of your bartender, order your own food, and finally try to understand why anyone should be pouring money in your snooty bubble you call a Pool Bar if there’s a perfectly fine view of Toronto down below in the park.
And that’s our...
