What a cute and quiet place, currently seating 4 tables (of 2s). 100% vegan for those following said diet. Lots of croissants and they do pizza flatbreads as well! What's amazing is that all drinks are not charged, what an interested and formidable concept! Way to challenge the status quo in cafes! I came in just before noon on a Sunday and waited for friends. The gentleman organizing, baking, basically working was very kind and friendly. The display of goodies looked delish! I had a regular croissant made with vegan butter and definitely ‘light’ in flavour but still delicious! My friends had a blueberry cupcake and a strawberry cream croissant which looked sooo good! They enjoyed it a lot as well. I had the chai tea latte made with maple syrup, very different but still yummy and not so sweet :). Spotted were Earth's Own Barista Oat Milk used in place of regular milk. My friend had the coffee and he said it was good. I had asked the owner why he decided on this and he said that his previous job he made a lot of money but it was taxing on his health and family—all to buy a bigger house that was what society pushed for. He didn’t want a bigger house, he just want to spend time with his family and be happy. Offering free coffee/tea was his reminder to himself that money isn’t everything and would like to treat everyone that came into his shop to thank them for their patronage. He just wants to be another friendly neighbour and hope everyone is happy. There is only street parking or two blocks from Dundas West or Keele station on the south side. No wifi, the owner wants everyone to come in, with friends or without to relax and enjoy the food, company, music, atmosphere, etc… internet relates to work a lot which reminded his previous life, stressful times and he does not want this in his cafe. From what I was getting, he wants his cafe to be a mindfulness oasis for people to enjoy. Soon to come in warmer weather is a large patio which is very private. We are looking forward to it!

New kid on the block! Only giving 2 Star LESS because of the Attitude of the server. Great to find a Vegan bakery with the most delicious Croissants. I’ve tried a few vegan ones but this one is so far the best Vegan Croissant! A selection of cupcakes cookies and other delectable desserts. They make Masala chai with oat milk which brings back fond memories of Indian masala chai. The espresso was delicious, freshly brewed and full of flavour. We reached late around 5:15pm and they close by 6pm, so most of the other meals couldn’t be prepared or served. That’s another motivation to come back to this incredible place. The service could be much better, maybe a little more energy from her could make the whole experience even more unforgettable. The server seemed a little cold and unapproachable. There were some toys in the back which my 5 year old granddaughter saw and wanted to play with ( as any child this age would, plus it was in the cafe in full sight) the server was quite curt in her reply and refused my granddaughter to play with the toys, leaving her heartbroken. Citing covid etc as her reasons.( why put it in full public display if one doesn’t want things to be touched or toys played with? ) and yes my granddaughter had already touched and sat on one toy why then make her get up, it’s already needs to be wiped and sanitised ( if that was the servers concern) The customer to client interaction is vital for repeat customers. Alu tikka sandwich is another tasty treat. Little mild for my Indian palate but non the less an innovative way to have a Alu tikki burger. Worth visiting more than once. Hopefully reading this their customer service shall improve, as the place is good. So happy to see vegan restaurants and cafes coming up in Toronto. We need good stuff like Caked Coffee more.

Wondered what the 'hype' was about but I prefer to visit & experience a place first-hand at least once, before I judge. And boy-oh-boy did this place hit the spot! Kindness & selfless service personified. There's a word seva (which pretty much translates to 'selflessly serve others') and the folks at Caked Coffee live it. One of their ways of giving back to the community is by offering complimentary beverages. I visited close to closing time and they'd sold out of many best-sellers by then. They'd also run out of chai, but asked if I could wait a few minutes and they brewed me a fresh cuppa. The flavour reminded me of chai from back home in the Middle East and India. The chocolate brownie/cake was really fudgy, the strawberry shortcake's fresh strawberry filling isn't too sweet and I took home a chocolate cupcake that had a shot of espresso - everything was yum! 100% vegan everything, and the chocolate and cream icings are among the best I've ever had! To me personally, even nicer than dairy versions. I'm definitely going back again to try the other treats!

REDPONSE TO CC: No. $30 for no service and PAPER PLATES is NOT "reasonable". Fair enough about not expecting a small business to offer free drinks forever, but nothing was made clear on your end that it would only be for the first 6 months, and that it was intended to give back after the pandemic.

Your response to the 2nd issue I stated is moot. There was no "rush" happening. There were only two of us customers in the store, the 2nd customer having arrived a couple of minutes after me. Even in the case of an actual verifiable rush, it's rude to cut off a customer, ignore them, and go on to the next customer. It would have been polite for the girl behind the counter to say something along the lines of, "I'll give you a moment, unless you're ready to order now?". Again, she cut me off just as I was opening my mouth to tell her what I had chosen.

2ND EDIT: Came by after Cherry Blossoms in High Park 2024 with friends. I don't know if there are new owners, or if policy has changed, but the free drink with purchase of food is no longer. $30 for a lunch item and dessert on paper plates with no table service, with a paid drink, isn't worth it.

I came by another time and was having trouble choosing which treat to buy. I was just about to tell the girl behind the counter what I chose (literally, I had just opened my mouth to speak), and she ignored me and took an order from the man after me, without checking if I was ready, or to tell me she'll give me a moment while she serves the next customer. I just left. Rating is down to 1 star now purely for the customer service, or lack thereof.

EDITED TO ADD: it's been a couple months since my initial review, and I'm really disappointed the owners never responded, when I see them respond to everyone else. I too am suspicious of all these 5star reviews. I get that vegans want to promote a vegan business (I'm vegan too), but not at the expense of terrible customer service and poor upkeep of the cafe.

I don't know if the clerk was having a bad day or something, but she assumed my service dog wasn't a service dog and almost didn't let me sit down inside. The only table in the window had dirty cups and plates, she never asked how I was nor attempted to clear the table, and she sat on a stool using her phone the whole time. Her whole demeanor made it appear she didn't want to be there. I still...
