Edit: lol @ the owner’s reply. What a terrible attitude to have towards your paying customers and for improving your business. You don’t care about feedback. This isn’t a fake review, nor am I writing from “another sushi restaurant”. You even acknowledged that you were aware my order is from Uber, so you know exactly which order I’m talking about. How can that be a fake review??? I’m a regular paying customer lol. You’re just mad that I pointed out the truth. You shouldn’t treat paying customers like that. Compared to all sushi restaurants I have tried (and that spans hundreds across multiple countries), I can confidently say that this restaurant serves AYCE quality with a-la-carte pricing. Oh and I added a photo of the tempura bit overfilled “spicy salmon” roll since you wanted photos. You keep writing that I’m looking for benefits by leaving a bad review. If I was truly looking for any form of financial gain I would’ve requested a refund from Uber, but I’d never do that lol. I am at liberty to at least leave an honest review.
Ordered party tray DS11 and it was really poor quality. I have ordered sushi for decades in Toronto and this was by far the worst. The sushi rice has too much vinegar, it was so sour and leaves a sour taste in your mouth after. The rolls are so tiny, it’s like sushi for a baby. How can they even make it that small? Besides the salmon, all of the fish in the tray is very cheap quality. When a sushi restaurant uses cheap fish like their bright pink coloured, saline-injected “tuna”, butter fish (escolar), ebi, etc. and use inari as a filler… you know it’s sushi for Western taste or for people who don’t really know sushi. The quality of fish is no where near the photos the restaurant published on their Google page (they use pictures of toro, hamachi, etc). The spicy maki all had too much tempura bits, not enough fresh fish. Worse than AYCE sushi quality. You might be able to fool unsuspecting customers but you can’t trick me. So mad that I wasted my...
Read moreI am not sure if this was supposed to be a dining experience... If you are thinking of this place for a good meal, maybe think again and cook yourself something at home.
This tiny restaurant is small for a reason, it seems. There were only about 5 tables and they couldn't even find enough time to attend to one of them.
We arrived and for the first few minutes no one seemed to want to greet us. That was alright, we thought; maybe they didn't see us. We went to the counter to ask if we can sit down and were told that it will take 8 minutes. We looked around us. 3 tables were empty and still full of the left overs from diners that obviously left long before we arrived.
We were hungry, we wanted Sushi and decided it might be ok to wait a bit. When we finally sat down we had to wait again for the menus, and since it was cold we asked to start off with some tea. We read the short menu that was so expensive I thought i was dining in the expensive centre of downtown. They had almost only spicy options which unfortunately I cannot eat. That's ok. There was one option that seemed reasonable to my hungry self. We chose and closed the menus.
15 minutes later we were still waiting for our tea and for someone to decide they want to take our order. Now starving we decided to go home. As soon as we got up the server came to ask if we still want something and apologized in a tone that reminded me how little they care about their customers.
We were not going to wait another hour to eat. We were there for over 20 minutes and did not see a single diner being served. Too bad... Guess we are not getting...

I came by today for the first time to try the salmon aburi dynamite sushi (8 pieces) from their limited time menu (ends May 31st!). To my surprise, the order came with salad and miso soup. The total price was $13.50 which is a great deal! You can also get 10% off if you pay with cash.
The woman working there also recommended this order because the salmon had just come in so I was happy to try. While waiting for my order the staff also offered me water which was kind given the heat today. For now their only drink selections are pop so hopefully they expand.
As for the sushi it was torched to perfection and with the sauces layered on top of the salmon + well seasoned rice each bite melted in my mouth. The salad and miso soup were standard so no qualms there.
The location makes it the perfect place to take in the cool evening breeze or get takeout and enjoy their sushi in High Park.
Overall I’d highly recommend this spot for sushi in the west end ^^
Note: There is an error on the menu. The aburi order comes with 8 pieces and not 9 but the helpful staff pointed it out...
