Cali Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Toronto

I GOT FOOD POISONING, PLEASE READ!!

My parents and I went for the first time on Sept. 15, 2022 in the evening. The service was fine, the food was ok, the music was way too loud we could barely hear the cashier even when they turned it down, and then turned it back up when we were done ordering.

I ordered a ground beef and yam burrito and added rice, some kind of beef mush, cheese, onions, guac, and cali sauce and enjoyed it as did my mom, my dad did not complaining his chicken bowl was overcooked and dry. My stomach hurt a little that night but I thought that was typical of Mexican food. But the next day and for the last few days, I have had the worst diarrhea of my life. Today is the 19th and am still sick and also have a rash you know where.

Pepto has not been very helpful and yet I have still been going to work because of overtime hours and it has been miserable having diarrhea 3-5 times a shift which is a huge inconvenience to my colleagues and hotel guests. I was even half an hour late because I was on the toilet before I got changed at work.

Since then, I have not been able to eat properly and anything I do eat seems to go right through me. On top of this, I've also been trying to bulk up so time and progress has been lost. I am now very distrustful of this place and we will not be...

It's funny when you find a place with so many great reviews, & you try it & it really does live up to it, yet there are a few of these outlandish negative reviews. You have to take into account when you read reviews, some people are just miserable as &@$# & can never be pleased, & some are just trolling because they wanna see the world burn. It would take a really bad experience for me to give a place a zero, I've come across that a few times, this place definitely doesn't fall in that category. My wife & I have eaten Cali Mexican Grill in store & ordered at home on Uber Eats a few times, & have yet to be disappointed. It's also pretty comical when people try to slag a place, because it's not as good as the country of Origin. I've been to Mexico many times, tacos are fantastic, the Al Pastor amazing....they invented it, so it's kinda to be expected, but that doesn't take away from the Quilty of food you get here. Is it Mexico? No of course not Is it still pretty good & worth trying? Absolutely.

I was gonna give Cali 4 stars that's where I see them, but to offset the negative reviews of a few clowns that toss out zeros, without any clue of the implications that can have onon buisness, especially one that doesn't deserve it, they get...

I loved this place, dont know where to start. They were a bit generous with the meat, which is good, compared to what you get in other places, and the flavours of everything were SOOO good, it tastes like homemade. I was hoping to eat hardshell tacos, but dont have that option, although the soft tortillas were good enough. Chances are you are going to need napkins, specially for tacos, but they include extra nachos in your box so nothing is left out, and trust me, you're going to clean your box for sure. At first I was a bit afraid of my food being too spicy but then I wish I had more of that green spicy sauce that goes so well with vegetables. They also serve pineapple as a topping, which for some meats like pork Al Pastor adds more to the flavour. Price It's about 9.45 or 9.95 each trio or box, and the place itself is clean and pretty.
