Caribbean Lyme. Before This Local Restaurant Opened In Rexdale, It Sent Shockwaves Throughout The GTA. Rexdale Was Finally Getting It's Own Hot Spot. Local Residents Cheered That The Neighborhood Was Finally Getting A West Indian Restaurant - Not Having To Leave Their Homes Anymore And Traverse To Mississauga, Brampton Or As Far As The East. With Those Shockwaves Came A Lot Of Drama - What Was Supposed To Be A Family Restaurant Was More Of A Local Bar. As A Resident Of The Neighborhood In Which Caribbean Lyme Is Situated In, I Cannot Recall The Countless Times I Walked In To Pick Up An Order And The Bar Was Packed With Overly Intoxicated Customers - It Was Even Worse At Night. Attracting The Locals And Customers From Afar, This Once Beloved Restaurant Was Rexdales Newest Troublesome. From Brawls, Fist Fights, Arguments Down To The Owner Himself Picking Fights With Customers, It Was Only A Matter Of Time Before The TPS (Toronto Police Services) Had There Eyes Locked In. A Video Surfacing Online Through Social Media's Instagram Showed TPS Tasering Overly Intoxicated Customers, Bottles Being Thrown And Other Shenanigans You Wouldn't Find At A Family Restaurant. For Those Who Don't Know, Caribbean Lyme Has Relocated And Re-Branded There Logo - Across The Street. There New Location Is Very Much Smaller And There Food Is Still Ever Tasting The Same As It Did When It Opened Years Ago. The Food - Caribbean Lyme Has A Signature Ingredient Which Is The Same In All Of Its Menu Option, You Taste One, You've Tasted All. It's Nothing Special. One Minute Wings - On Numerous Occasions, I've Ordered Wings, Witnessed Customers Ordering Wings Only To Have Them Served To Me In A Minute ? Is This Fresh ? No Clue. While They Do Offer Some Tasty Dishes, You Will Have Experiment As You Visit, If You Visit. Recommendations - Operate A Family...
Read moreWent to Caribbean Lyme for the first time today. We were excited to try a new place since the food at Guyanese restaurants these days are not very good like it used to be. It wasn’t very busy. Myself, my dad and my brother seat ourselves and waited 10 mins no one came over to our table. My dad had to call on one of the female working there and ask if there is a waitress working. We finally got our food and it’s not hot. No one came over to ask us if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. They would walk by us to go to the patio look in our direction and never once came over to see how everything was going. After we were finished we sat there for about 20 mins waiting for the waitress or someone that works there to come over and nothing. Again my dad called on one of the girl working there 3 times as she was walking by us (I am guessing it’s the owner’s daughter) and she completely ignored us my dad had to shout before she came over. When she came over she had total attitude asking what do we want…SMH
This is the first and last time. We will never go there again or recommend this place to anyone. I would give the service negative zero. It’s too bad cause the food was decent but probably would have been better if it was hot. I was going to do a take order since I am from Cambridge but we were so turned off by the...
Read moreOur review is a year late, but still stands. We are so incredibly happy to have found Carribean Lyme. We used them for our wedding, with less than 3 months to plan (long story). We went for a taste test on a weekday evening, and the place was packed and lively (already a great sign). We dealt with Anita who was absolutely phenomenal. She was super accommodating, patient, and helpful to say the least. We couldn't have asked for a better person to deal with. To top it all off, she let us taste a few dishes for free! Now, the food. Absolutely, positively, AMAZING! Our guests raved about it, and still do to this day (and we have picky eaters in the family). We recommend them to everyone. We live 30 mins away, but are willing to make the trek for their delicious food. Our 1st wedding anniversary dinner will be ordered from this wonderful restaurant. We are so grateful for Carribean Lyme's existence! We can't thank the team enough for helping to make our wedding day as...
