This authentic Vietnamese Restaurant with a modern twist has been open for less than a year, and is busy for a reason!
The ambiance is beautiful, bright, yet not too dim, and spacious with plenty of seating. The food is definitely on point, and the servers are friendly and polite! John, in particular, is outstanding! He’s gracious, a good listener, and genuinely cares about making your visit a memorable one!
Let’s get to the food because you know it’s going to be good when the owner and staff are Vietnamese! The dishes are aromatic, made with fresh ingredients, and prepared by experienced chefs!
Our go-to favorites are:
A01 - Crispy deep-fried spring rolls: these are generously compacted, not greasy, and don’t fall apart when you take a bite.
A02 - Summer rolls: plump shrimp, pork, with plenty of veggies!
A06- Di An Golden Wings: these are a must-order! My partner always eyes the last one, and I give in – and let him eat it – LOL! They’re seriously addictive!
P01 - House Special Pho: our go-to order - it’s everything you want in a bowl, with clear, aromatic broth that isn’t overly spiced from star anise and cloves, and isn't greasy! They also blanch the bean sprouts, so need to request it.
H03 - Smoked Beef Brisket Pho: I ordered this once for a change, and couldn’t believe how juicy the beef brisket was! Dripping with juice, super tender with a smoky flavor!
V01 - Grilled Pork + Spring Rolls + Vermicelli: when summer hits, I prefer cold noodles! The pork is grilled to perfection!
Notes/Tips:
They also bring utensils in a glass of hot water (it’s an Asian thing, so you can be sure of clean utensils)!
Their complimentary tea is fragrant and unique. The first time I sipped it, I noticed right away that it had notes of Thai tea. I asked our server, who was surprised at my taste buds (lol) and confirmed it was Jasmine blended with Thai tea leaves! I think it would be a great idea if they served this tea cold, as an option, especially during the summertime!
We’ve been here many times, and we love the rewards card. We received one on our first visit, and you get a stamp each time, with a free appetizer on the 5th visit!

Have you ever been to a restaurant for the first time and after a meal, it instantly shoots up your list of favorite restaurants of all time? This is one of the places that are so good, that you are conflicted between gatekeeping so that you can selfishly enjoy the food all to yourself with no lineups, vs sharing with the world so that you can support their business and keep them running so that you can come back anytime. For what it's worth, I've already shared the location with my family group chat for our next Vietnamese meal.
Upon entering the restaurant, Di An has the esthetics of the newer modern Vietnamese restaurants, though too many times have I been tricked by the fancy/clean appearance for poor quality and overpriced food. This was not the case at Di An - my wife and I ordered 3 of their specialties (Banh Xeo, Bun Bo Hue, and Bun Rieu with Deep fried soft shell crab) [NOTE: for a $2 difference, you MUST get the deep fried soft shell crab!!!]
The first sign that this was a going to be a great dinner was that they serve pandan? (I'm not vietnamese so I don't know what it is exactly, but it tasted like pandan) tea - I'm guessing similar to Thuan Ky, which was reminiscent of "The Pho Restaurant" in Markham before they went downhill. Another thing that my Chinese upbringing would allow me to appreciate is that they bring your utensils (chopsticks and soup spoons) in a cup of boiling hot water!
The ingredients for each dish were so fresh, it was finger licking good (literally). I joked with my wife that I'd do the kinton bowler challenge because I ended up drinking all the soup for the Bun Rieu. I really want to take the left over Bun Bo Hue soup back home so that I can add udon to it and enjoy another delicious noodle, but alas, my wife forbids me.
All in all - come check out Di An and be prepared to have your tastebuds transported to flavour town!
P.S. My wife wouldn't share the photos she took of our food (Sandy Cao) so see her review for the food. See my photo for the...
Read moreProbably our favorite place for Vietnamese cuisine at the moment! We arrived around 5:20 p.m. on a Saturday & plenty of seating was available. We thought they were going to put us at a table for 2 so we told them which table we wanted but the young gentleman offered us a larger table for 4 people.
As soon as we sat down, he placed the menus in front of us & proceeded to let us know which dishes he recommends... bone marrow pho, bun bo hue & bun rieu. No surprise there as these are the most popular dishes at Vietnamese restaurants that offer it.
The place is spacious & really beautiful with the high ceilings and the décor makes you feel like you are in Asia somewhere.
We ordered the appetizer combo that comes with 2 crispy spring rolls and 2 fresh summer rolls.
I got the Bún Riêu CUA W/ Soft Shell Crab and my husband got the Grilled pork chop on broken rice.
Our appetizer came out first which was nice since I've been to plenty of places where it comes after the mains. It was presented beautifully and both types of rolls tasted fresh & yummy.
My Bún Riêu CUA W/ Soft Shell Crab was plentiful. The broth was clean and not over oily. It was filled with tons of stuff in it including a big hunk of pork meat on the bone. My most favorite part of this meal was the soft shell crab. It was AMAZING as it is coated in salted egg yolk.
My hubby really enjoyed his rice dish. He was pleased that when he asked about the different hot sauces, etc. on the table and how hot they were, the young gentleman offered him some fresh chili's from the kitchen. He ended up adding it to every bite he took & loved it.
Good service, great meal in a bright and spacious location! We would definitely return here for another tasty meal & highly recommend...
