I treated my family at this wonderful little restaurant today on the occasion of Family Day. We were a group of 10 - 9 adults and my 7 year old granddaughter.

The reviews I had read of this restaurant while researching restaurants for today's celebration, were spot on. It was a great dining experience. Excellent food and quick and efficient service. We ordered a combination of several platters...

1 medium size (20 pieces) platter of boneless fried chicken glazed with sweet and spicy sauce). It was so good, tender and flavorful.

1 platter (16 pieces) of boneless fried chicken breast - golden. Again very tender. This was ordered keeping my granddaughter in mind as she's not yet adventurous in trying out different cultural foods.

2 platters of yaki udon bulgogi beef noodles. Very good.

2 platters of kimchi fried rice with egg. For me, this item stood out the most! It was so flavorful. Yum yum.

2 platters of pork katsu. The cutlets were lightly breaded, amazingly crispy on the outside and so moist inside.

2 platters of spicy pork sizzlers. Again a burst of flavor in the mouth.

We washed this sumptuous meal down with Sapporo beers, ice tea, pop and cups of hot green tea. There was more than enough food to go around as the portions are pretty good, and we had to request a small takeout box to carry some leftovers home.

The owner was very courteous and offered us nibbles and 2 large portions of fries on the house.

Besides the food, the place is very clean, and has tasteful aesthetics. I was impressed and on an impulse decided to check out the washrooms... I wasn't disappointed. They were immaculately clean!!!

I will recommend this restaurant to my friends and contacts for sure and I'll be looking forward to dining here again. There are many other items on the menu which I've to try out.

The only feedback or suggestion I have for the owner is to include a couple of dessert items on the menu - perhaps some ice cream and yes, include some juices among your beverages. For other than that, i found everything perfect. Hats off to the owners who I think are a husband and wife...

Very nice staff. We did have to ask them to come over or go to the counter a few times. But perhaps that’s just how they do things here:). The restaurant was immaculately cleaned as well. We ordered Japchae, golden friend chicken breast and Kimchi Pancakes. Each had a unique flavour to them different from other Korean restaurants.

The Japchae had a great texture, with a balanced sweet, salty and savoury flavour with beef tenderized very thin and cooked well.

Kimchi pancakes were massive! And very light and fluffy. This was a different texture than I’m used to and quite pleasing. Lots of spice and kick, but never feeling too hot.

The chicken was fantastic! A nice thin light coating of breading over the meat, it was perfectly crispy! And to our surprise it had just the slightest taste and scent of curry to it. It was an interesting flavour combination, but was great, and went well with dipping the chicken in the sweet and spicy sauce.

A very cute cozy kitchen. All of the dishes were very generous portions that were more than enough for 2 people to share. We took leftovers home with us.

Highly recommend you give...

A great place for Korean food. They also sell decent quality soju for the same price other restaurants will give you convenience store products. The Hallasan soju in particular is a nice touch.

Update: visited again and had the bulgogi bibimbap. There are newly printed menus and they serve rice hot dogs and fried chicken now as well. The bulgogi poutine looks like a great thing to split between two people.

I've become a regular here and am wondering if the restaurant has changed hands? I haven't recognized any of the staff the past few visits. Last night my food was still very good but lighter in seasoning and slightly smaller portion size. It seems like the number of side dishes has been reduced to two, with the sesame bean sprouts not making the cut. It also doesn't seem like you can get a refill anymore either.

I still highly recommend this place! It remains my go to spot despite these...

Was driving in Etobicoke and was faced with that decision everyone hates. You're starving and your stomach wants what it wants. Me and my associate both agreed upon Korean BBQ. Now the Google search brought up many different options but something stood out about Don Chon. I don't know if it was the name or the positive reviews, but I was willing to take a chance. The waitress was extremely helpful and very informative when we asked her questions. We ended up getting 2 orders of the beef spare ribs that you cook on your table top, 10 wings (THEY'RE HUGE) and a beef sandwich that we split. I really enjoyed everything. The beef spare ribs were good quality. A bit on the fatty side but still good cuts of meat. The wings were extremely good. Nice crisp to them with accompanied with the sweet and hot sauce. Finger licking. I would definitely come back again. Thank you for the experience!
