Fat Bastard Burrito Co. — Restaurant in Toronto

My partner and I were thrilled when this Fat Bastard Burrito location opened in our neighborhood. As huge fans of their burritos, we were regulars, visiting at least once a week, even signing up for the rewards program. However, over time, we’ve noticed a significant decline in quality. Our orders are frequently incorrect, and despite pre-ordering through the app, we often arrive to find our food isn’t ready—sometimes waiting an additional 20 minutes, even when the restaurant is empty. On multiple occasions, we’ve been told, *"We made both burritos the same, sorry," with no offer to correct the mistake. The staff is unhelpful, often rude, and barely communicates with customers. They also consistently wrap the burritos poorly, leading to an uneven distribution where the first half is all rice and the second half is just sauce and meat. The proportions have gone down significantly and do not mirror those at other locations. The worst experience was finding a piece of a plastic glove in my burrito. It’s disappointing because when this location first opened, the quality was great. I’m not sure if there was a staff change, but it has gotten so bad that we now go out of our way to visit the Weston Rd. or Barrie locations instead. I am a pretty regular customer of Fat bastard. I live in the area and usually go to the location across the highway at Weston Road & 401.

Today was my first time here and my experience was just ok. There was only one employee working and it took quite some time to place my order and wait for the food to be prepared. I think there should always be a minimum of two people working in case it's busy. I ordered two crispy sweet chilli Thai chicken bowls.

I showed the employee my gym membership to let her know I was looking to get the extra protein deal. After confirming several times, she almost charged me for it ($6) until I advised that I didn't see the discount yet upon payment on the screen. She apologized and made sure the discount was actually applied.

Portions were decent. I found the portions here to be smaller than Weston Road & 401. I appreciate that the employee took the time to write on the lid of one orders where there was hot sauce. Overall, my first time here was an average experience. It felt as though the employee was a bit stingy on the toppings. I'm unsure if I will give this location...

I came here for lunch the other day and had a pleasant experience. I showed the person serving my burrito my goodlife membership for extra protein, and the portion he ended up giving me was perfect. Other fast food places from my experience, do not add enough protein and veggies to fill the whole burrito, making them feel hollow. Also, the man making my food was providing excellent service. He was holding a conversation with me while making my food and told me about the deals the store was having. Finally, despite me being the only customer in the store, I noticed that the employees (a man and a woman) in the kitchen were hard at work and were not slacking off, making me realize that this place is legit and I can be ensured quality every time I visit.
