Our family used to be loyal customers and would come here every week to purchase roasted BBQ pork, but the experience has completely soured. The man who chops the meat has one of the worst attitudes I have ever seen in customer service. He is disgustingly rude for no reason and treats customers with zero respect. On multiple occasions, we spoke up about his behavior and even scolded him, yet nothing has changed. This type of treatment is exactly why they lose business.
To make matters worse, they are not honest with customers. They purposely take the best, fattier pieces of meat, weigh them in a way that makes the portion seem heavier than it really is, and charge more than what you should be paying. It feels manipulative and like they are trying to scam people who trust them.
The only positive is that the owner of the store is nice, but unfortunately that is not enough to make up for the repeated terrible service. The man chopping the meats should have been replaced long ago, because he drives customers away. There are so many better Chinese BBQ shops with friendlier service, more honest practices, and competitive prices. Unless you are desperate and stuck in the area, I highly recommend going next door to King’s Fair Supermarket. The uncle working there is genuinely kind, respectful, and most importantly, honest.
This place used to be worth visiting, but now it is a disappointment and a waste of money. I will never return, and I strongly suggest others take their business...
Read moreI think i may have found my new chinese bbq lunch spot! I love the location spot in the middlefield plaza and enjoy that the server can speak comfortably in english. Food is pretty solid. i got duck and roast pork meal for 11.99. There’s tax to pay which is expected since this isn’t inside the food court but it’s own restaurant. It took over the Lucky Noodle spot. Something to note though is that there’s no soup or tea that comes with the food, rather a can of pop. I hope that soup/tea/soy milk is something they can incorporate in the future.
*EDIT: March 2024-glad to say that since my last visit, there is now a drink/soup that comes with the meal. Either a can of pop or 'soup'. The 'soup' is just the wonton noodle broth though. I'll just get the pop...
Read morePaid $12.20 for the BBQ pork with crispy skin and sauce. There seems to be a sale going on.
The crispy skin is actually crispy (when it's cold) and salted nicely. My mom said that it was a bit too salty though. The pork is pretty salty, but tastes pretty good. We got the lean piece (or as lean as it can be), the butt of the pig. There's obviously still quite a bit of fat on it.
You can definitely eat this while it isn't hot anymore and it still tastes good. Though eating the BBQ while it's hot is the best. It's juicy and cooked alright too.
Good to try it out the food here. The...
