A decent place to eat good Chinese food with decent quality, huge quantity or good price.

We were looking for a good Korean place to eat when we passed by this place and decided to eat here instead.

I lived and worked in China for 4 years and I used to eat Lanzhou cuisine atleast 2 times a week. During winter I used to eat like 4 times a week. So I know authentic Lanzhou noodles and cuisine very well.

As soon as we walked in, we were impressed as they were making noodles by hand. Which is Lanzhou speciality.

The environment inside the resturant is nice. The waiter and waiteress are quite good too.

They give you choice of various style of freshly hand made noodles, which is a very nice option.

We had bowl of Lanzhou beef noodles, tomato flavored fried noodles and lamb skewers.

The bowl of noodles was good. For $13, it was a good size and amount of noodle. Tasted good.

The tomato flavoured noodles plate was a dissapointment. I used to eat this dish everyday but when I had it this time it just tasted like eating spaghetti. I can feel the tomatoe sauce used. The real dish not suppose to taste this sweet. I put like 6 spoons of hot sauce in it but felt nothing. The hot sauce was not spicy at all. Basically all I could feel is the over bearing tomato sauce. The noodles and the rest of ingrediants were ok but too much tomato sause made it not tasty.

The lamb skewers had good amount of meat for the price but was not that yummy. It wasn't bad, but not that great either. Meat quality was good but taste wasn't as good as it could have been.

I may eat here again if I am super hungry and passing by during peak of winter but otherwise I probably won't.

What I would say to you "the reader" is that if you happen to be in the area and never had Lanzhou noodle, try it out. Its a good place to eat.

I just think that it misses the "authentic" mark by few points. That is why I take out 1 star. Its still good food, just not that...

The wait was okay, they said 15 to 20 mins but we got in fairly quickly since we were a table of 4. We got an awkward table with a slightly weird bump on the wall but was asked if this table was okay - it seemed like they didn't want to give this table out unless they had to because of this but it was fine with us. It was a tight fit but it was ok once we adjusted ourselves in.

Order the Lanzhou style Lamb stir fried noodles as a main dish and some appetizers including some teppan(?) squid, spicy cucumber in house made sauce and lamb skewers. Honestly everything was really good.

Personally, the "spicy" wasn't very spicy, but it was seasoned very well. I will probably order a non-spicy dish next time to try.

The portions of the noodles are definitely shareable. Maybe even three people could share a plate if your appetite is that small but 2 people would definitely work. If you're really hungry, you could demolish it yourself.

The service was impeccable. Came by every few minutes politely and glanced into all the cups to see if anyone needed a top up of water or tea. Very good customer service.

The women's bathroom was well cleaned. There is only one toilet though so keep that in mind, the toilet is in the basement and the basement has very low ceilings. I think if you're any taller than maybe 5'10", it may be uncomfortable going downstairs to use the bathroom.

Would go here again, would recommend to people and would invite people to...
