Edit: Unfortunately you mislead everyone even further with your answer. Not all plastic is banned in Canada, only the non-recyclable single-use one. There are plastic cups that aren't banned and made out of recyclable plastic. But of course that's more expensive than fooling the customers with cheap paper cups that aren't in fact Eco at all because they're for hot drinks (look at your very cups, it says Attention Hot, and the plastic type on the cup says number 7), it's a known fact that those aren't recyclable and are only intended for hot drinks because there's no other way really. However, you're using the more pretty clear cups in your advertisements, and serve in cheap paper cups for hot drinks pretending to be eco.

Original Review: Misleading. The most utterly false advertising I've seen. So, on the official Gong Cha Instagram page they post videos and photos of 'influencers' inside this Liberty Village location with CLEAR CUPS, and the drinks surely look pretty in these cups. When, in fact, at this location all drinks are served in cups that are paper and opaque. So, for example, they advertise the Witch's Brew - as this exciting red 'Halloween' drink, when in fact after ordering you receive a drink you cannot see, so all drinks look the same. Does it look like Halloween? No. So either stop false advertising, or just live up to the expectations set in those ads. And if you go Eco - just don't advertise them in clear cups, misleading...

Especially, the real kindness and friendly welcoming of the employees made me a regular to this place. ( not some fake canadian smiley faces!) I'm a bubbletea addict and I've been to lots of different ones... Sometimes, after a busy, boring day I just go there to have the good vibes of "the people", not just the place!

But as much as I can see, observe... The employees have overworking conditions! (from 18.00 to 23.00 or for a night shift... Is it normal to have just 1 employee for a nonstop ordering place? 🤔) I believe people can do their jobs with passion, they can handle everything by themselves but it doesn't mean that the companies can take advantage of it! I hope some competent authorities will pay attention to these details and change the overwhelming conditions of their employees. Because I can guarantee that they...

What I ordered vs What I got (these are cold drinks in cups for hot drinks) — this business really needs to put a disclaimer for its customers BEFORE them ordering stating that they do not serve the drinks in the clear cups they advertise them in. Very deceiving, since all their social media ads feature aesthetically pleasing drinks but when you order — just disappointment. Also, as if plastic cups are banned ONLY for the simple customers, not the influencers they invite to promote their products. If I knew what I was going to get, I would have thought twice about ordering the drinks. Maybe I would have not ordered anything at all. Also, the drinks are very sweet for my liking, even at 30%, just complete sugar overload. I had high expectations but it seems that I won’t be coming back...
