My wife and I ordered from here via UberEats. My wife had clearly specified in her order comment that she wanted her food to be vegetarian (photo attached). She had ordered the pizza sandwich with the comments asking to make it a "vegetarian" meal very clearly, but when we got our food, there was meat in my wife's sandwich. We called the restaurant and first of all the person who picked up the phone practically didn't speak any sensible English, not even kindergarten level English. I had to explain to her over and over what the problem was which she didn't understand and then my wife explained to her what the problem was a few more times and this lady did not even apologize and even though we asked for her sandwich to be delivered to us the way we wanted, she got defensive and said "pizza sandwich is pizza sandwich, we don't do vegetarian for pizza sandwich". They didn't even bother calling us to check with us or if they couldn't make it vegetarian, they could have offer us other options, but they didn't.

This place is obviously run by a bunch of unprofessional, uneducated and primitive staff that clearly don't understand anything about customer service and have absolutely no manners or any class at all.

I am beyond shocked and dissatisfied with this place. What a great waste of time and money!

Congratulations Haida! You just lost a few customers, my wife and I, plus everybody we know! What a magnificent achievement!

----UPDATE - SEE BELOW---- About 45 minutes after the above review, I received a call from the owner of the store - I believe he said his name was Max. He apologized to me and my wife. He was very sincere and professional. He even offered to give us two free sandwiches the next time we go to his store - this is not necessary, although we appreciate the gesture, the issue was not the quality of the food, but the quality of service and how we were treated by the lady over the phone. I would like to thank Max for his courtesy, professionalism and consideration. In addition, I understand that the message was received by this establishment and at least the owner was not defensive and he tried his best to make things right which speaks volumes. So, to be fair, I changed my review from 1 star to 3 stars. Once again, thank you Max! I am sure you will lead your business in the right direction,...

Look no further for a quality sandwich that's worth your time and money.

Haida is a small, somewhat hidden shop that packs a lot of good stuff into the food they make. Their warm sandwiches are my personal favorite. I ordered a full grilled chicken special tonight and it was absolutely delicious. The bun is lightly toasted as well so you have a bit of a crunch as you take that first bite of the sandwich which packs the heat of the freshly cooked food nicely. The slight crunch complements the tender chicken inside. The sandwich is served with pickled cucumber, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, parsley, and a sandwich sauce which all goes well together. They have pretty big portions so if you're not too hungry or have an average appetite, I'd recommend getting a half portion. If you're looking for something to treat yourself with, their pizza sandwich definitely hits the spot for me since I love melted cheese.

It's a bit of a wait for the food though because like all good things, it takes some time. Wait times at this place range between 10-15 minutes for your food. It's not the most ideal place for someone looking to grab a quick bite on a half hour break. However, it is possible to place an order for pick up so you can spend less time waiting and more on enjoying the food. Due to the small space the shop has and that it mainly does take-out, the dine-in experience does fall short if you're looking to sit down and enjoy your food especially with a group bigger than three people. The seats aren't that comfortable as well because they're high bar stools with wooden seats. All of this is easily forgiven though because like I said, they mainly do take-out.

While you wait for your food, I'd recommend trying an Istak soda. As far as I know, it's a Persian soda and for someone that doesn't like softdrinks at all, I actually really enjoy the drink and it's really nice on a hot summer day. Definitely a must try. Overall, Haida is a great place for a casual bite for a...

Worst customer service in Toronto I had a plan to go out of town on Sunday. We ordered 8 cold sandwiches the night before and they said they will be prepared by 11 am. At Sunday we drop by to pick up them , the lady told us pay ~86$ without any receipt. We asked if we can have a receipt so we can share the cost with friends. She said no I do not have time to enter the code the point-of-sale system, because I am just the cook here and not the cashier and that will waste of my time and the owner will come over my head why I have not done my tasks!!!!! Really!! what that even means?!! Plus there were 10% discount promotion on this store website for over 50$ orders. She said I am not aware of that and I am just the cook!! you should go talk to the owner named "Agha Mehdi". I asked if she can call him and ask him about it as it is advertised on the website. Once again heard that we are taking so much of her time and it does not concern her as the cook. She was so rude and angry that I did not want to ruin my day by arguing with her. Plus it was a sign of violating the Ontario Tax Code, the GST/HST was charged on the price but providing receipt was refused. I would never dine again at this location.

As the owner replied under this post and google does not allow me to reply, I have to update this post.

if 10% promotion is for online only , it should specifies if not , the customer concern should at least be addressed with respect.

If the only person which is in the store is not responsible for taking orders then who is? At least not tell the customer to come at 11.

when the employee is pushed out of the boundaries , the resentment kicks in as bad customer service if the face of customer.

Our experience here deserved at least but not last a sincere apology which was...

*A Disappointing Experience* I have been a loyal customer of Haida Sandwich for quite some time, often indulging in their delicious sandwiches. However, my recent visit left me utterly disappointed and questioning whether I'll ever return. Upon arriving at 11 pm feb10 2024, we were informed that dining in was not an option, despite the restaurant closing at 1 am. This lack of accommodation for customers at a reasonable hour was already frustrating. To add insult to injury, the prices were exorbitant, with a simple Coke can priced at $3. Furthermore, the quality of the food was abysmal. The so-called "Royal Sandwich" I ordered, priced at $25, was an absolute disaster. The picture I shared speaks volumes - no cold cuts as advertised, just a cold hot dog slapped between two slices of bread. It took a whopping 45 minutes to prepare this disappointment. This experience is not only disappointing but also concerning for food safety standards. I will certainly be advising the Canadian Institute of Food Safety about this matter. It saddens me to say that despite my previous enjoyment of Haida Sandwich's offerings, I have lost faith in the establishment and will not be returning. The horrible service and lack of attention to quality have cost them a long-term customer.
