Choo Tea 初代茶铺 — Restaurant in Toronto

TLDR: Tried their competitor of Charlie's Tea before so wanted to try this Choo Tea to see which is better. Choo Tea has a very small space (0 seating other than 2 stools at a window bar table top) with extremely long lines.

-[PEACH OOLONG TEA w/CHEESY CREAM] $6.99 🧀 The cheesy cream mixed with the peach oolong tea at 30% sugar and light ice was very good but actually even a little bit not sweet enough for me which is rare ❌️ I also paid an additional $1 for their "CHOO's mochi" but I highly recommend you DO NOT order it as it's so thick, that even when you use the wide straw, you cannot actually get any of the tea/mochi through it

When I informed them of the above issues with their mochi, they were very apologetic and made me a new drink (without mochi) for free but I guess I took a loss since I paid for mochi that I barely even got to consume :') This is the second place (after a Tiger Sugar location in Edmonton) that cannot seem to understand what texture the mochi needs to be like for it to work in a drink

📝 The employees will tell you at the time of ordering if it'll take a certain amount of time which set the proper expectations about how long you'll have to wait around 📝 Due to how long their lines are, most people have to wait outside the store but you can't actually hear the employees call out your order number unless you are physically inside the store. They could improve this by getting some sort of electronic display to also show the current order number to people outside to...

I recently walked by Choo Tea and decided to give it a try. The quality of their drinks and service amazed me. The staff was incredibly welcoming and patient, she gave me a very detailed introduction to their menu and even gave me recommendations that may match my taste preference. I was strongly recommended to try the fruit tea and I have to say it was one of the best recommendations I ever received. First of all, I was blown away by how fast I received my order but also the incredible quality. It was easily one of the best fruit teas I’ve ever had. The flavours of the fresh fruit and tea were perfectly balanced, with neither overpowering the other. You could instantly tell that they use high-quality tea, not just an ordinary tea bag. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Choo tea. Will definetly come back for their fruit tea....

Poor service. I braved the cold tonight, arriving right at 10:00 PM. The “Open” sign was still on, and 5+ customers were still waiting in store with the machine running—yet the staff bluntly said, “We’re closed, you see, it’s past 10 pm.” I can accept that, but her attitude makes me feel terrible. And she has made no effort to accommodate or say anything like "excuse me". I didn't even ask for anything or tried to order, she made me feel like "it's your fault, don't blame me, you see it's 10:00 PM". You really don't have to do that to me, because if you say to me in a good manner I will understand. And, if the store were dark and empty, I won't even bother.
