April 19/25 We wanted fish & chips tonight so we came back here because we happened to be close by. I had the haddock and chips and my partner had the special with gravy. I hesitated to order the poutine because I was wanted to try the gravy first. As well we asked for the fries to be well done. We were told about 15 minutes so that tells me they were just starting to cook our order. After picking up our order we just started to eat it in the car because fried food does not travel well. The fries definitely was not what I expected for a bit well done. They were not crispy at all. The fish had some taste and it just came off the fryer. I try the gravy and it was not very thick. Lucky I didn’t order the poutine. This is my second time here and I was disappointed with the food. I was hoping for better since they have been around for many years. Too bad!

June 2023 Been to this plaza many times but first time here for fish & chips. Saw the reviews and I figure I would try it. Ordered the haddock special, I think they just opened took a while for the oil to heat up properly. I’d asked for the fries a bit well done. Gravy on the side. I quickly went to the car to eat it so the takeaway wasn’t soggy. I found the fish had a bit much batter and the fries not crispy. The food was okay. Maybe people liked the pricing? This place is fantastic and close to my office. The owner is very friendly and I haven't had any issues any time I've ordered. Sure, there may be times where they run out of a certain type of fish, but they'll always offer something else and price match. One thing I do want to elaborate on is the specials. There was a one star review left here a while ago mentioning that there are two daily specials with one conveniently hidden. The $4.99 special is a piece of cod with chips and gravy. The $7.99 special is a piece of haddock with chips, pop, and your choice of gravy or coleslaw. The type of fish being ordered and the extras are what determine the price point. I don't think it's a bad thing to have multiple daily specials, you just have to be specific in ordering the right one. I generally would ignore lower ratings because I do believe it comes down to personal taste, but when part of that low rating is based on an opinion of something not being clearly stated (when it was), I only thing it's fair that it...

This is the best value and our go to place for Fish and Chips in the GTA. If you only have $5 and change, their Daily Special (2pc fish+fries+gravy) is the best bang for your buck. Add 70cents more and you'll get a coleslaw. We've been coming here probably for 30 times since the previous owner's sister ran the place. We've never been disappointed! Mind you, their fish and chips are the best when they're fresh. We live close by, so it's always hot and delicious. But if you wait even a couple of hours, the fries becomes soggy and won't taste as good.

The $4.99 fish is obviously not as good as the $7.99 Haddock Special BUT the batter is the same and it's great! (For $4.99, you can't go wrong!) The fries and gravy are really tasty. So are the coleslaw and breaded mushroom.
