I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. The highlight (or should I say lowlight) of the evening was the utterly inedible greasy noodles that were served to me.
From the moment the plate arrived at my table, it was evident that something was terribly wrong. The noodles were drowning in a pool of oil, forming an unappetizing slick that clung to each strand. The texture was a bizarre combination of slimy and mushy, as if they had been soaked in grease for hours on end.
The flavor was equally disastrous. Instead of the delicate balance of spices and sauces one expects from a good noodle dish, all I could taste was the overwhelming presence of rancid oil. It was as if the chef had mistaken a bottle of cooking oil for a seasoning, resulting in a dish that was more akin to an oil spill than a culinary creation.
I attempted to salvage the meal by dabbing the noodles with a napkin to absorb some of the excess grease, but it was a futile effort. The more I tried to remedy the situation, the more apparent it became that these noodles were beyond redemption.
To make matters worse, the service was lackluster, with staff appearing indifferent to the fact that they were serving a subpar dish. It was clear that the kitchen had no regard for quality control, and the lack of concern from the staff only added insult to injury.
Overall, my experience at Hey Noodles was nothing short of a greasy nightmare. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining here to steer clear unless they have a penchant for inedible, oily concoctions. Save your taste buds and your stomach the trauma, and choose a restaurant that values the art of cooking over...
Read moreMy partner and I were returning customers and came in to use the $1 Chongqing noodles promotion. Firstly, the promotion was unusable, as the app only loaded a grey screen when we tried to redeem it, which, of course, is not at the fault of this location, however, our issues arose in the service we received during this visit.
We were sitting in the restaurant for about 15 minutes trying to get the promotion to work and were entirely ignored during this time. Two other groups came in after us and immediately received water and were attended to. I even made direct eye contact with a server as he served another group that came after us, yet we were still neglected. The woman working was helpful and polite initially with instructing us on how to use the promotion and we even showed her how it was not working, expecting some sort of assistance or accommodation, however, ultimately, there was none. We were left sitting there, ignored and struggling with a dysfunctional promotion so we ended up leaving.
It's really saddening because we genuinely enjoyed the food at this location but couldn't help feel discriminated. Perhaps, the promotion is a scam at the hands of head office just to draw people in, as even when we tried to load the promotion multiple days later out of interest, it said "sold out," which really makes no sense. Whatever the reason was, it came from poor business practice and we will not...
Read moreI ordered one dine-in noodle bowl and sharing it with my friend since she was not that hungrey at that time. I choiced the kind of noodle bowl that allow for one free fill and that list in their manu. After I finished my bowl and asking waitress to refill the noodle, she refused because I have share it with my friend and she claim that the refill policy is count as per person(so we are count as 1 bowl/2 people=0.5? i guess). However, in the manu it's clearly state as "Free Refills Noodles Dine-in Only, per noodle bowl." I have no idea how she can just made up some random policy at your desk? If you state "per noodle bowl", then it doesn't matter how I eat my noodle or letting my friend taste my noodle. Anyway, she was asking $2 for refill the noodle. After I was clearly said "no more refilling" she gave me a bowl of noodle without saying anything in a few minutes later. I thought she asked her manager who agreed to refill the noodle for free. Ends up she still charged $2 for that refill bowl.
They refused to take debit/credit card if you spent less than $30. Cash only and you are still paying all the taxes/tips. The first noodle bowl they give you usually has small portion of noodle and you have to request for a "free" refill if they letting you: )
About some pro: good soup and the meat is tender. Prices are ok, $11-$15 per noodle bowl. It's "Sichuan" noodle so you are expecting the...
