This was our go to place. We have been going there every 2 week.
Their quality, service going downhill, specially ATTITUDE OF GIRL STAFF as if they are serving homeless people in restaurant.
1st of all- please do not serve the last grade quality oil food. Its not oil you are using, its a grease which can be use in commercial equipments.
Sometimes, you get hair in food but no apology. Sometimes, you get unwashed or not properly washed utensils and staff says that it’s sensitized. Customer knows the difference. Sometimes, chopped onions are not fresh and looks transparent and smelly and you have hear that its from supplier. Customer knows what is fresh and what is refrigerated for 3-4 days.
Today we ordered Vada Pav, Chana Puri, and Puri was too oily, fried in burnt black oil, we can clearly see the black oil in dish unfortunately the girl staff could not see. Vada Pav- Vada smelled so bad and odd and can say that was fried twice or more. It was dark as coal. we asked for replacement, and staff gave excuse that “Puri to oily j hoy”. As soon as she saw black particles from their fryer or oil itself on puri she told us that she can replace only 1 puri. She served new one but again with the same oil and we had to ask to take back and she was not ready to apologize at all, she just said that i will take back chana puri. NO APOLOGY, NO SORRY, JUST STRAIGHT ATTITUDE.
To the Owner, please don’t write that this review is fake or from competitors. We have been your regular customer till now but not anymore. Also train your staff to show some respect not the attitude to customers and guts to accept...
Read moreVisited Honest Restaurant in Etobicoke recently, and while the food was quite good, the overall experience was a bit disappointing due to poor customer service.
First, the food: We ordered dry Manchurian, pav bhaji, and a Mysore plain dosa. All of these dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The Manchurian was crispy and had just the right balance of spice, the pav bhaji was rich and creamy, and the Mysore dosa had a lovely texture and taste. No complaints there – we really enjoyed what we ordered.
However, the service left much to be desired. The restaurant seemed to have only 1-2 servers handling the entire floor, which caused a significant delay in everything. It took a long time to get our orders taken, and when the food finally arrived, it was well past what we expected.
Feeling still a bit hungry, we decided to add a plate of chole bhature to our order. Unfortunately, after placing the order, we waited for about 30 minutes, and still no sign of our dish. At that point, we had already been waiting quite a while, and the delay was just too much. We ended up walking up to the front to cancel the chole bhature and paid our bill.
It’s unfortunate because the food really was good, but the slow service definitely put a damper on the experience. If they can improve their staffing and speed up service, it would make a huge difference. For now, though, we left feeling more frustrated than satisfied. Hopefully, they’ll address these issues because the potential is...
Read moreThe food is okay, but they’ve implemented the worst possible system for ordering and paying. They no longer accept orders over the phone, which is incredibly inconvenient. I called to place an order, and they told me they would send a payment link via text. I waited for about 10 minutes while I was driving, but I didn’t receive anything. I had to call again, and by the time I finally got the link, I was just two minutes away from the restaurant.
What’s the point of this unnecessary hassle?
How is someone supposed to safely copy and paste a link from a text message into a browser, add items to the cart, and enter their card details—all while driving? It’s not just inconvenient; it’s unsafe. This system clearly wasn’t designed with real-world customer situations in mind. A simpler, more user-friendly solution is badly needed. Not everyone has the time—or the hands—to deal with such a clunky digital process, especially when something as simple as a phone order could have saved so much time and frustration.
Plus the dine-in experience isn’t much better anymore. No matter how many customers are there, they usually have just one staff member taking orders and serving everyone. And i see that staff trying hard to pay attention and run here and there. The food takes far too long to arrive at the table, and the drinks are always served last—often when you’re already halfway through your meal.
This used to be my favourite restaurant but...
