Sat and grabbed coffee and a bite for about 45 mins with a friend. Unfortunately I ended up leaving my purse on the table. when I called back to ask if they could check or have found anything, I was told no he’s too busy to look and to Call back in an hour. I asked if they could just quickly help me and check the seat I was and explained my running there now but my house keys and wallet are all in there. I was then told with quite the attitude to either come in myself or call back in an hour as he can’t check. A bit disappointing that they’re willing to ask for a tip to pour coffee but couldn’t get 30 seconds of help especially since when I got there, it was not even busy.
Edit Most definitely a misunderstanding. I did not scream but was panicking and sprinting across the city to try and retrieve my purse, wallet, and house keys. I’ve worked in customer service for over a decade so understand it can get busy, but will say I was quite shocked with Complete lack of empathy for someone asking for your help when you could clearly hear I was stressed and in need of help. I am also a customer and paid quite a bit for a coffee plus I tipped. I only asked for 60 seconds of your time for help. Thankfully, my purse, iDs credit cards and all my belongings was actually still there since it was NOT that busy. But thanks for...
Read moreWhat a cute little gem I found when leaving a grocery store. It was early in the afternoon and I desperately needed a coffee. I looked up while waiting to cross the street to go to Starbucks, when I saw Jimmy's Café and thought, why not give their coffee a try.
I'll admit I'm a very simple creature and just order brewed coffee with a splash of soy milk. But I believe that even a brewed coffee needs to be made with care and top-quality beans.
Service: the barista was SO sweet. I appreciate feeling welcomed and given the space and time to look at the menu (even if I already knew I was just getting a brewed coffee). They were polite and patient as I reviewed the menu. I asked if they had soy milk to which they replied they do and was happy to accommodate. Absolutely lovely person.
Price: I asked for a 12oz which cost me $2.83 after taxes. Not my favourite price for a coffee, BUT, with inflation out-of-control, I don't see why I can't support small businesses. Besides, I would have paid the same or more at Starbucks for a watered down Pike roast.
Coffee: The coffee was quite good! I can taste subtle hints of the roasted beans, but at the same time, it wasn't overpowering. The soy milk definitely complimented the coffee flavour.
Definitely recommend this cute café and encourage all to support...
Read moreTruthfully, this is a 4.5 star review, but based on the details of my experience I’m inclined to round up.
General notes: the space is really cute and I love that they have a quiet zone. Also I very much appreciate that the menu is a little pared back and not huge and trying to do everything.
I was here on a stat holiday so there was one person dealing with a bunch of customers, and he was actually super courteous and helpful so props to him because I could never. I got an iced lavender mocha, a chocolate chip cookie, and a scone (blueberry, not what I ordered but honestly who cares).
The mocha was great! Pleasantly floral but not overwhelming, not super sweet, very smooth, and you can definitely still taste the coffee. The cookie was pretty good, texture was perfect, great little treat.
The scone is the reason why this is a 4.5 because it was solidly the worst scone I’ve ever eaten - tasted like nothing and had an unpleasant mealy texture. But I mean all the other pastries looked good, the cookie was good, and as a home baker I find scones to be a little temperamental.
Would definitely return. Very interested in their...
