Shawarma Boss — Restaurant in Toronto

Went here to Shawarma Boss on a Monday evening in Sept 2018. Was craving a quick bite before class. Had the special 2 chicken shawarma for $9.99 It was my first time here, and personally, I found the chicken bland... it wasn't as flavourful and crispy as other places I've eaten (my friend felt the same way). Hot sauce was good, ingredients were fresh, and overall quality and portion size was decent. Venue is very clean and spacious, felt like it was new or renovated.

I may not be a repeat customer and try it again unless I'm in the area with another craving, since most shawarma places are consistent in their product, and I feel this will taste the same for me... However, based on seeing people walk in and reading other reviews here, it seems some people (half to two-thirds) enjoy it. So you may need to try it and decide for yourself :)

Maybe weekdays are better? I ordered a Big Boss falafel box on Friday, which was great. Today (Sunday), I went back to order a BB chicken box. I asked him what time they close and he said in 30 minutes. Hours weren't posted that I could see.

Rice and chicken were reheated in separate cast iron skillets. Chicken is the real deal and was cut nicely and rice was good, BUT because the chicken was reheated in a cast iron pan it was a little on the overcooked side and the meal overall was bland. Definitely enjoyed the falafel box a lot more. I think what could help the meal experience is if the staff start to close down shop AFTER the operating hours. Closing down early doesn't work for a positive food experience where freshness...

I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. From the moment we walked in, the service was cold and dismissive. No greeting, no smile—just attitude.

As for the food, it was a complete letdown. My chicken wrap was underseasoned, and honestly tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. The chicken was dry, the vegetables were soggy, and the whole "shawarma wrap" lacked any flavour.

The overall atmosphere was tense and unwelcoming. Definitely not worth the price we paid.
