(Edited/updated) Hey KFC; honour your own offers. And don’t make your customers jump through hoops to apply your offers. I experienced a customer service fail, both with your store and with your customer service line. And with corporate, who hasn't bothered responding to my feedback. I spent a very frustrating 30 minutes trying to claim the free poutine on Canada Day (with a minimum 25 dollar purchase – my cart was at 31 dollars). Had to order online; app wouldn’t recognize the promotion. Store manager – Deep - told me there was nothing he could do. Told me to call the customer service line. That was a 12-minute call. THEY told me there was nothing they could do. I handed phone over and put Deep on with the customer service individual – eventually Deep did enter the free poutine using his register. Now at the half-hour mark.
Am frustrated manager didn’t proactively offer to try and fix the situation, when I met all the criteria for using the app. Am frustrated customer service rep kept me on hold for so long, and also didn’t find a way to address the situation. Am frustrated what should have been a quick interaction took 30 minutes. Am frustrated store and customer service were too busy blaming each other and not taking time to address a customer’s concerns. Am frustrated that no one has reached out to acknowledge my concerns.
My opinion based on my experiences is that KFC has sub-par customer service. Most of us work hard for our money, and in this economy – with prices being what they are – we need to watch our spending. My opinion is that your time and your money are better spent elsewhere. And that Deep should spend less time reviewing his own restaurant with a fake review here on Google and trying to suppress bad reviews (don't know for sure it's the same Deep, but the name, the timing and the glowing adjectives would support this conjecture) – and more time implementing better customer service. I went there from so far to try there new plant based meal and ended up getting $32.00 worth of food, which included two combos, I asked the guy to please give me a can because I have to carry the drinks a long way, they are not going to survive the trip. He told us cans are only for deliveries and you can get bottle, but in order to get a bottle he will have to charge us $2 more. Here the fun part begins, instead of just taking $2 and giving us bottles instead of cups, he will have to refund the entire order and recharge us with a new order, and to get the refund it will take 4 days. He said he can’t just take the $2 it will mess up his inventory. I have worked enough years in service industry and nobody makes a big deal about this kind of stuff, no restaurant will refund you and charge you twice just because you want a bottle instead of a cup. There restaurant was completely empty, and only had two staff members were and looked completely miserable. Instead of helping a customer these people went to extreme lengths to make the ordering process super inconvenient. I told this guy to just cancel my order and just refund me the money because whats the point? If you hate getting customers why even open? Just close down the restaurant or work somewhere else why are you wasting your time and ruining restaurant owners business. The chicken in the bucket was all wet. The moment the chicken left the fryer to the bucket to the bag my dinner table was 10 mins and the chicken was all wet. The manager tried to blame me for having the chicken in the bag for more than 30 min which is not true. It seems the staff didn't take the steps to follow the process to make sure the chicken airs out so it doesn't become wet during the packaging process.
When I requested to return the bucket of chicken for a new bucket, I didn't have that option because the chicken was touched and they said they no longer take it and resell it.
I have been to this location many times and other staff have been very kind and made very good chicken.
This place is hit and miss. Recommend to double check your food before you leave the store.
