I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago so you can trust the authenticity of this review (Diego Martin to be precise. I know we have an ongoing debate with the people from South/past the lighthouse on doubles standards). I have to say I was very nervous going in based on the negative reviews I've seen about this place (and that deplorable picture of a doubles a saw from another commenter). Here's what I ordered and how I rate it: Boneless curry chicken roti 5/5: Can't go wrong with this one. Well seasoned, good balance of chicken to curry, flavour is correct, only critique might be that the chicken itself was a little dry in the centre, but if they start cooking it a little lower and slower it's an easy fix. Pholourie 5/5: Hard to mess up a pholourie tbh. 5/5 because they serve it correctly with a tamarind chutney but you might want to ask for extra because they serve you one small container of it with 10 pieces of pholourie. They also make it fresh to order so you might have to wait a 10 mins but it's definitely worth it. Doubles (veggie because why would you ever put meat in a doubles) 4/5: They must've changed the recipe or fired the person who made that abomination of a doubles for those poor other commenters a couple weeks ago. Thank God this was decent. Nothing mind blowing but if you have a craving for doubles it'll get the job done. Very reasonably priced for Toronto as they have a 2 for 1 special at the time of writing this review. I ordered slight pepper but it wasn't hot at all, so if you like it hot you could ask for plenty and you should survive. Main critique is that the channa itself didn't have much flavour, but the flavour it did have was going in the right direction and the sweet sauce helped it along. For reference I think Drupati's makes a 5/5 doubles, Danforth Roti shop 4/5, Randy's 3/5. Please lord don't let this place fail. I live near the distillery and the next closest Trini restaurant is Randy's quite up by Bloor-Yonge so my prayers were answered when this place opened recently. Rooting for y'all.

I'm telling myself the staff is just the weekend crew, foreign students already tired from school. Too tired to make a good product or have good customer service. At first I thought 'wow a roti place that's open late", I saw the students, heard the accents, and I thought nope, but I already drove there, and parking was hard. Sunk cost fallacy had begun to set in. So I stayed and ordered, which was a chore in itself. I needed a rest after that back and forth. I reminded myself that judging them isn't a Trini thing to do, and that working there was helping them with school, immigration, a better life etc. The line of unhappy people waiting on their orders had nowhere to go so as you stood there waiting, listening to them, buyers remorse set in. Like daaaaaamn, I wanted roti not an emotional event and existential crisis. I wish I could've left a better review, as the curry was reheated and the roti was thick and not pillowy soft like paratha should be. I'll try this again, if only to see if it got better.

At first I was very thrilled with my experience with Kish's but just as I was about to leave a 5star review I was disappointed with my order. On July 2 2025 I ordered 2 mango curry with roti (it's my favourite and I travel about 30minutes for it). Both orders had potato curry in the bottom. The potato was also very under cooked. Because the flavour profiles are different I could tell something was not quite right as I got to the middle of the container the curry was in. At first I thought perhaps it was an accident or anyone off situation however, I flipped the second order of food out on to a plate and saw the same was done. If there was not enough to make the 2 orders then simply let your customer know. Do not go mixing the curries and pass it off as the same. Not to mention each order is 14.99 plus taxes. Again, I am very disappointed and have yet to return 30 JULY: I was given 2 replacement orders of mango curry free of charge which was very professional and appreciated

Ordered 40 doubles for an event we were having..I placed the order at 10pm on July 30th 2025 for pick up on July 31st 2025 at 630am. Every single person that ate these doubles got food poisoning. I called Kish Roti and doubles the next day and informed them as to what had happened. The person I spoke to blamed the girl who was working the night shift and told me that she probably made the doubles that night and then warmed it up before our pickup time on July 31st 2025 (unacceptable) I asked for a manager to call me back she said I will have a manager call me back ASAP. Fast forward 4 days later no call back. I called back the restaurant and explained the situation again and another person who answered told me she will get her manager to call me back in 5 minutes. Waited and waited no call back. I traveled and just returned so I decided to call back the restaurant again. This time I demanded to have a manager come to the phone ASAP and I will not accept a call back again. Manager came to the phone I explained the situation and she said she never got any information about this situation until now. I asked for our money back she said she will have to call her boss to see if they can give me a refund. Within 3 mins she called me back and said her manager said he can offer me a free doubles but no refund. I said np I will be taking this up further. Before I could say anything else the girl hung up the phone on me. I will NOT be buying doubles from this place ever again. It was my first and last time buying from this restaurant.

UPDATE AUGUST 20TH 2025 Update to my review owner tried to act like he was concerned. Lol I called him as per his response to me and clearly he never read my review before jumping to conclusions. He said I should have spoken to him first before putting up a review lol. I tried numerous of times and the staff at the location said he is not willing to refund me my money and I could come back and get more doubles lol...owner told me thank you very much for the bad review and hung up on me...lol..he then decided to call me back and tell me that I could go back and get 20 doubles...lol sir I DO NOT want your doubles. Oh and the best part is he trying to tell me that he makes a batch of chana every day so it's not his doubles that made my ppl sick..lol telling me nobody else called and complained that day. So unprofessional. I don't care if you own Lena's for 40 yrs. The fact of the matter is the doubles made ppl sick and the fact of the matter is your own employees confirmed that the doubles was made the night before and re warmed before providing it to me the next day so own up to ur mistakes and stop trying to...

Hate to have to do this but avoid this place if you're looking for doubles. The chutney is okay no issues there. But I've ordered here 4 times in the past month because I really wanted doubles. I ordered chicken, goat and shrimp on different occasions. Every time my order has come there has been 1... Yes ONE piece of chicken, or goat or shrimp in the doubles. I've ordered on 4 separate occasions via Uber eats and I'm shocked how cheap a restaurant like this can be. Doubles is literally in your name and you can't even put 2 pieces of chicken or goat in there?? It's literally as if you either don't care or don't like your customers which is sad and pathetic. Will not be ordering from here again and if this has happened to you please like this review so other can avoid ordering here. 4 chances ordering is enough. 8.99 for 2 doubles with meat or 4.99 for regular doubles with no meat. You're actively charging 4 dollars for 2 pieces of meat which is WILD. I will update my review with photos from my previous orders. Hate to have to do this but for what you pay these days and what you get this place is not worth it. Literally every time 1 piece of meat. My shrimp ones I got today had 2 tiny shrimp pieces in it, not even jumbo shrimp. It's sad a business would try to take advantage of customers like this but don't say I didn't warn you when you try it. And if you do try this spot and the same thing happens to you, just come back and give this comment a like. I'm done with being taken advantage of, especially from places like this. The doubles weren't horrible but they weren't great and definitely 100% not worth it... At least if you're getting meat. Can not and would not recommend this place. Get your doubles else where. Also delivery took 35 minutes each time and I'm up the street. Completely unacceptable and weird. Care about your customers Otherwise avoid this place. Just a total rip off for what you get. Every time my order has come there has been 1 piece of meat. Take care of your customers moving forward to avoid this. No need to be so cheap...
