Our group requested a reservation 1 hour earlier than their regular hours and they kindly accommodated for us.

For half of our group(l, it was our first experience at this location & the other half were already well versed. So to make it easier, we just doubled the identical orders for both sides of the table.

We had a good mix of cooked lamb, beef & vegetarian platters (this giant platter reps 4 platters), plus soup

The beef soup was extraordinarily delicious with a hint of corn taste (IMHO) in the consommé. What was slightly red in colour also reflected its spice level.

Their traditional injera (bread ) was wonderfully light, as to be expected

We ended with their traditional Ethiopian coffee (similar to an espresso size & strength), which came with popcorn (tradition)

The service was wonderful and they were extra patient with the elderly in our group.

First time trying Ethiopian! Food was good, but service was dishonest. I was overcharged for a second entree despite being told it came with my meal. When the additional entree was first brought out, I apologized to the server for my misunderstanding but didn’t know the meal I ordered came with so much food. She confirmed that my meal came with what I ordered plus a veggie platter. I didn’t see it described as that on the menu, assumed I misread and said okay.

The cook/owner followed up and came out of the back and said we could not send the extra food back and that it was part of the meal I ordered. I said okay and just asked that the extra food be boxed up to go. But once I got my check, I was charged for two separate meals instead of one. Seemed like everyone there was in on the overcharge...

Come here if you're looking to explore Ethiopian cuisine for the first time!

Ate here today with a close friend, it was the first time having Ethiopian food for the both of us, and we were absolutely blown away by this restaurant. We both had Chacha, a lamb dish recommended by the very friendly server, who helped us navigate the menu. The flavour of the lamb, veggies, and hot sauce were all phenomenal. Injera was also light and had good flavour.

The only critique I can make is that there were quite a few bones in my friend's dish, and only a few in mine. It didn't really bother us though as we were constantly blown away by the amazing flavour of the dish.

Overall 10/10 food and service. We'll...

This place is AMAZING. It deserves to be everyone’s go-to spot for authentic Ethiopian food. Even the pickiest of eaters would enjoy the amazing flavours that come out of this kitchen. The food, the coffee, the ambiance, the regulars. Everything was perfection. Come bring your friends here, order food and be merry. This place is truly a gem in the city of Toronto. I would come back every month just to order a lot of food with my friends and enjoy the energy of the environment. This place is unforgettable. Thank you so much Gadise and staff & of course the oh so friendly regulars for having a BLAST with us! This is the kind of authenticity our city needs.
