I don’t often (ever) write reviews for restaurants, but I felt compelled to for this one. I don’t go there often, as the prices are just a little above what I’d like to pay on a regular basis but I never regret it when I do.
The quality of food is honestly incredible. Never been disappointed by a menu item - butter chicken, tandoori chicken, veggie pikora, garlic naan and their lunch boxes are all particularly fantastic though. Honestly some of the best chicken I’ve ever had, bar none.
The presentation is fantastic too - and I’m not someone that would usually care at all about that (it’s all just getting eaten anyways). But even for me, it’s noticeable - the food looks beautiful and tastes even better. If this place were downtown, with a little more name recognition, I reckon they’d be booked full every night. As is, I consider myself lucky to have them in the plaza around the corner. I hope they stay there a long time so I can continue treating myself every so often.
Not really much I can think of to criticize here. I suppose the portion sizes on the lunch boxes could be slightly larger? Even then, it’s probably more than filling for most people, I just happen to eat a lot. And the prices are maybe slightly more than you’d expect from a restaurant tucked away in a Scarborough plaza - but they’re more than justified in charging what they do because of the quality. If that’s your hesitation, do yourself a favour and treat yourself. It’s honestly just astoundingly good, mouthwateringly delicious food. They’re more than justified in charging what they do. Try them out - you won’t regret it.
The owners/cooks should be incredibly proud of what they have - this restaurant has been a welcome addition to the neighbourhood from day 1. I’m glad they’ve made it thus far through the pandemic, as I know that’s been tough on the whole restaurant industry. I hope they stay for a very long time.

Read moreThe male staff is so rude so pathetic i can't even explain. We were so hungry came to order and the menu price was wrong. He said its not updated and started arguing, he was literally the worst customer service we have ever come across. I will never go back to order. People like him ruining this industry . Don't know his name but he came from inside and has puffy hair. He was the worst wish i knew his name . So trash think 10 times to go here. Honest review……also this same person ask me to call as you guys can see. I called him and again in the same rude tone he is saying i didn’t do anything wrong you are mistaking and it was not my fault , the menu was wrong and he was trying to defend himself, i was shocked like anything, and he was not at all apologetic for being rude and being pathetic customer service … i told him my kid was hungry thats why i picked up the order at 9.30 pm otherwise no way i could have picked up the order that night could have canceled. Our community people can be so rude and misbehave so bad so bad cant believe, because people can pay the highest price for their food but if it comes with mis behaviour from the person who is taking order sorry no one can take that attitude.. iam done with this restaurant. Plz guys think 20 times before going to...
Read moreNeutral/Positive Points: No comments on Ambiance. I just went there for a take out order pick up. Seemed a decent place to spend some good time. Was not overly crowded and had a decent setup. The staff with whom I interacted was a good guy. Neither too pushy nor rude. He did his job as was supposed to be done.
These are the reasons for that 1 extra star.
Negative: This is a restaurant before anything else so the biggest factor that counts the most is food. Sadly that is the worst part of this place. My order was very simple. 1 chicken Biryani and 1 goat biryani. Thats it. The biryani was sadly nowhere close to what a biryani is called. You can call it a badly made pulao at the very best. They got the spice level right, I must say but other than that, there was nothing to call this biryani. It was only masala mixed with rice. The rice also was not good quality rice. Goat biryani had mostly bones in it and the meat was also not cooked to optimum level.
Although I have stayed in Toronto years back, this time while I was moving here permanently, one of my memories to catch up on was the food here. This place stands no where compared to the great food this city...
