Be aware Vegetarians & Non vegetarians also who dont eat non veg during Ganesh festival season. This restaurant is selling Non veg food in the name of Veg thali I had a very bad experience ,we went to this restaurant at 9.15pm, As this is Ganesh festival going on,we did not wanted to eat non veg food, so ordered VEG THALI. So ofcourse i will assume to be served veg food only. But what we found is Chiken pieces in Rice & that shocked me how this people selling non veg food in the name of Veg thali. What if people who r allergic to nonveg or pure vegetarians eat that chiken rice ? When asked this about lady owner ,she even refused to give refund saying we finished one Naan & was arguing tht she thought its ok to serve nonveg rice in Veg thali. Is it really ok??? What they r doing is totally wrong.selling non veg food in the name of Veg Thali.so be aware people.

Update- Update for people who commented on post who think restaurant people are right, people saying y i chose that resta whose name is bbq. At first, when we were searching restra,Man from restra pursued us & went inside, asked for options in thali, owner said they have Veg thali,we said ok,that it then go outside to sit, & that time we ntice the name of restra but order was already placed so asked twice to have veg only, & it doesnt matter the name of restra, they should always serve what they claim, i m not pure veg,but dont eat non veg on special occassions & i think its my choice , but if instead of me ,some pure veg person went through same scenario, then...

Even though I have lived in the area for five years somehow I had never stopped in at Lahore BBQ and Paan. They have a lovely little outdoor patio on the street and we finally took the time to visit - and I’m so glad I did. The food Is exceptional. Everything from the bbq corn, to the freshly pressed sugar cane juice with lemon and ginger, to the Chana bhatura, is executed with care and is totally delicious. Even though I am vegetarian I couldn’t help but try the rice from my partner’s dish of chicken biriyani and I was blown away by how aromatic and perfectly cooked the rice was, filled with delicious spices like mace. My partner ate the chicken tikka and exclaimed it was the most delicious Indian dish she had ever had. Also, their tandoori naan is hands down the best in the Gerrard India Bazaar area - crisp yet tender, and not at all doughy. Beyond compare. Everything was so clean and it’s clear that this 40 year old business is being run with care and attention to detail - you can taste it in the food and feel it in the warm welcome of the owners. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to find this place - I’ll be a regular from now on. Highly...

Exclusive food items at this place with some very delicious options which taste closest to what you can get back home. But you pay for that taste as the prices are over the top.

Their Bun Kabab are amazing. The top bun kabab taste you will find in North America. But they cost you around $9!

Lahori Kulfa Falooda is an exclusive item that is not available at most places. Note that this is not the regular "Canadian Falooda" in a glass with ice cream. This is the "actual" Falooda with Kulfi and Noodles and some milk. It's exclusive to this place which is why it costs $11!!

If you like spicy then you will like their Pani Puri. Chaat Papri was just ok. And Kashmiri Chai is also good (one of the first in Toronto)

This is probably one of the oldest desi food shop in GTA and will probably get heritage status one day.

Place is packed on holidays (Eid, Diwali, Independence Days etc). Street Parking is $2 per hour. Do not forget to pay because there is quite a strict inspector roaming the place giving hundreds of tickets/hour. Free parking can be found on the streets along Gerrard but they can be around 5-10...

Visited this place today to try only the paan. Asked the lady who attended me first about paan and she directed me to man who then was ready to take my order but I asked him what flavors do you have he had only sweet paan with the flavor only he knows about and nothing that he could explain to me. I told him I want the best that you have and he said yes yes this is the one. I said okay alright make it 3. I was waiting to see the whole process but was surprised to see that the paan was already prepared. I asked the lady about this and she said yeah I just prepared it sometime ago. I was oh well what can I say. I expected it to be top level taste but then when I went home and then tasted the paan it was like a normal or rather I can say sub normal level paan. Like I think something I would have had when I was a 9 year old. Opened up and there was hardly anything inside it. Clearly this is money making. It's not worth the money you pay. Or may be that's what you get for that money here in Canada.

Omg this restaurant is a scam !! We saw the board of chole bhature for 9.99 so me and my friend placed the order for one plate chole bhature. Guess what !! When my friend went in there she was handed just an order of chole and there was no bhature. Apparently the employee explained that we don’t have bhature instead take naan which will cost you 21 dollars so out of frustration she got chole only and that alone chole without bhature was 14 dollars !! The quality of chole was horrible and it seemed to defrosted. How are these stores even open ?? Stay away from this store. If you don’t know how to cook dont run a restaurant or even advertise at first place.
