Be aware Vegetarians & Non vegetarians also who dont eat non veg during Ganesh festival season. This restaurant is selling Non veg food in the name of Veg thali I had a very bad experience ,we went to this restaurant at 9.15pm, As this is Ganesh festival going on,we did not wanted to eat non veg food, so ordered VEG THALI. So ofcourse i will assume to be served veg food only. But what we found is Chiken pieces in Rice & that shocked me how this people selling non veg food in the name of Veg thali. What if people who r allergic to nonveg or pure vegetarians eat that chiken rice ? When asked this about lady owner ,she even refused to give refund saying we finished one Naan & was arguing tht she thought its ok to serve nonveg rice in Veg thali. Is it really ok??? What they r doing is totally wrong.selling non veg food in the name of Veg Thali.so be aware people.

Read moreEven though I have lived in the area for five years somehow I had never stopped in at Lahore BBQ and Paan. They have a lovely little outdoor patio on the street and we finally took the time to visit - and I’m so glad I did. The food Is exceptional. Everything from the bbq corn, to the freshly pressed sugar cane juice with lemon and ginger, to the Chana bhatura, is executed with care and is totally delicious. Even though I am vegetarian I couldn’t help but try the rice from my partner’s dish of chicken biriyani and I was blown away by how aromatic and perfectly cooked the rice was, filled with delicious spices like mace. My partner ate the chicken tikka and exclaimed it was the most delicious Indian dish she had ever had. Also, their tandoori naan is hands down the best in the Gerrard India Bazaar area - crisp yet tender, and not at all doughy. Beyond compare. Everything was so clean and it’s clear that this 40 year old business is being run with care and attention to detail - you can taste it in the food and feel it in the warm welcome of the owners. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to find this place - I’ll be a regular from now on. Highly...

Their Bun Kabab are amazing. The top bun kabab taste you will find in North America. But they cost you around $9!
Lahori Kulfa Falooda is an exclusive item that is not available at most places. Note that this is not the regular "Canadian Falooda" in a glass with ice cream. This is the "actual" Falooda with Kulfi and Noodles and some milk. It's exclusive to this place which is why it costs $11!!
If you like spicy then you will like their Pani Puri. Chaat Papri was just ok. And Kashmiri Chai is also good (one of the first in Toronto)
This is probably one of the oldest desi food shop in GTA and will probably get heritage status one day.
Place is packed on holidays (Eid, Diwali, Independence Days etc). Street Parking is $2 per hour. Do not forget to pay because there is quite a strict inspector roaming the place giving hundreds of tickets/hour. Free parking can be found on the streets along Gerrard but they can be around 5-10...
