I would LOVE to give it 5 stars..been going here for 30 years! But today really upset me. The food is great .thats not the problem. The problem is the customer service. Very bad. They are so cheap with the salad and chutney. I ordered several takeout naan kebabs for 4 different people who would eat on their own. So i asked to pack each one seperate with each order with its own salad and chutney and the guy gave me an attitude and he wouldnt do it then said he would only give one salad and one chutney for the entire order . it would be a larger size salad and chutney but still not enough to divide with 4 people and most importantly the 4 people are not eating together at once! I have had multiple orders of maan kebab before and the large salad and chutney was ok as we were all eating at once but then still the salad ran out way way too fast and the chutney was not enough either. They need to be prepared if u got 4 orders then prepare for 4 orders and dont try to get upset at a customer if he asks to have it wrapped separately or if he asks for individial sides which are part of each orser anyways .i know they do this because they are cheap and dont want to chop up and buy more salad. They are super cheap. I even read one guys review on here and he said he saw the dude reuse someones left over salad off their plate when they were finished. Disgustingly cheap. Very disheartening ive been a customer here since the mid to late 80s and to see them cheap out like this and give attitude is ridiculous .prepare more salad and dont be so cheap. Next time he gives me attitude i will snap back .This time i let it...

Food is good however remember to ask for the bill and pay after ensuring the correct items are billed Background : today 1-1-24 we ordered 5 naan , biryani and 1 goat paya which they had clearly advertised for $12 . When asked for the bill the old gentleman behind the counter said he would give it later and then gave an extra butter naan with my goat paya when asked why did he do that he said it’s for the new year (strange because we had 5 naan ALREADY IN OUR ORDER , so why give 6th as a treat for new year ?) and tried to make some small talk about the person behind us . After finishing the dinner when we asked for the bill again he hesitantly provided the bill which had Karahi billed instead of Paya . Karahi is $14 and paya $12 . When asked about the difference he said he doesn’t have a code for paya so he billed Karahi and it’s fine since he gave a naan free (the same naan which he tried to pass off as his generous new year gift )🤣. This seems little dishonest as we should have either been informed before paying that there would be $2 extra or he could have billed for 4 naan instead of 5 and then giving an extra naan when we asked for the bill. Please correct me if there is any reasonable explanation for this and I would delete/update the review .

The $2 difference doesn’t matter but billing should...

This is THE O.G.kabab place on Gerrard street. Everytime we come down for an event or whatever, we have to make a pitstop here for their legendary footlong kebabs with naan. At about $7 a plate ($8 for chicken kebab) you CANNOT go wrong.

Each plate comes with naan, kebab, bit of salad, and two types of dipping sauces. I don't think you can get better value in the GTA. Not only that, but the taste and quality of everything I just mentioned is stellar.

I previously did have issues with some of their other dishes (silly me for experimenting) and have determined that I'd rather save my money and buy more kebab rather than trying a curry or other bbq dish.

I still give this place 5 stars because the owner and cook are amazing people. I had a problem with one dish and they gladly exchanged it for me, no questions asked.

Make no mistake, this place does kebab, and does it well. Go pay your respects to a Gerrard classic.

(Beef over chicken for me, and red sauce...

September 27, 2020: The chairs are back in place and this restaurant is back in action and ready for business! My friend and I each had the lamb biryani, extra spicy with spicy sauce on the side at our request. Guess what? Another 5⭐ meal!!! August 15, 2020: My friend took me to this unassuming little hole-in-the-wall for my birthday lunch, and it turned out to be an absolute charm! The owner was super friendly and the food rivalled some of the best restaurants around! Don't expect a fancy set-up, because if you do, you'll be sadly disappointed. Instead, rest assured that the delicious morsels you'll savor are all made with love by someone who cares and knows what they're doing. AND you won't be broke when you leave! Wish he'd open a location closer to me - I 'd be there at least twice a week!

This place gave a literal Indian Vibe! A lot needed for someone who's been staying here in Canada for a long time. The ambience, the streets simply have resemblance to the Indian streets (specifically Abids, Hyderabad or perhaps Park Street, Kolkata). Food was amazing and scrumptious! We had mutton sheekh kebab, fried fish, mutton and chicken biryani. All items were decent and great. It has also the much celebrated Hyderabadi dessert; "Double Ka Meetha", although I didn't try it because I was already full until the main course. But, I'm sure it's great as it is being made by a Hyderabadi Chef (old aged uncle hailing from Malakpet, a really decent and hospitable man) and in addition to that the appearance was appealing.
