-First of all i would like to tell something about my whole experience :- we went to this place after reading the good reviews and the aunty who owns this place is so clever that she will convince you to say that the food is good and if you try to disagree on that she will bring all the curries from the inside and start swearing just to prove her point, more on that she didn't provide us an itemized on which she charged us 25% gratuity on top of 15% tax and she didn't even mention that once. So,without our consent she took 27$ of tip from us indirectly. This RESTAURANT IS NOT AT ALL FINE DINING which deserve that gratuity price. -Talking about the food:- we ordered one chicken masala, 3 butter naan, 2 garlic naan, shahi Paneer and Chilli chicken and Gulab jamun in dessert. Both the the curries were so much loaded with spices that they lost their original taste( Trust me i lived 24 years of my life near old Delhi ). talking about chilli chicken, it was so different that we had to ask "the aunty" that " is this really chilli chicken " and she said "that i like to cook it my way not the way chilli chicken is supposed to be" and we were thinking at that moment why don't you name this recipe something else than chilli chicken. though never mind, naans were really fresh and awesome and the dessert was great too! P.S - now the owner gonna reply me that "when did i come, we were closed from 3 days" if you guys don't believe then go check out other comments and reviews with 1 star rating. that wasn't GUCCI at all. Hope this review will be helpful for the community and to the owner to improve their services and meet the need of the future customers. thanks.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this authentic Indian restaurant, and I have to say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and the aroma of fragrant spices. The restaurant had a cozy ambiance that made me feel right at home. Now, onto the food - let me tell you, it was exceptional! I started off with the Amritsari kulcha, which was stuffed with a delicious mix of paneer and spices. It was served with a side of chana masala that complemented the kulcha beautifully. Next up was the halwa poori, a classic North Indian breakfast dish. The poori was deep-fried to perfection, and the halwa (a sweet pudding made with semolina, sugar, and ghee) was the perfect accompaniment. It was not too sweet and had just the right amount of richness. The pani poori and aloo tikki chat were delicious as well. Finally, for dessert, I indulged in the kulfi - a creamy, frozen dessert that is a specialty of Indian cuisine. The kulfi had a rich, almond flavor. Overall, I can confidently say that this restaurant truly captures the essence of authentic Indian cuisine. The dishes are bursting with flavor, the service is impeccable, and the ambiance is perfect for a cozy meal with family and friends. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by and trying out their Amritsari kulcha, halwa poori, pani poori, and kulfi - you won't be disappointed!

Really sad food. It looks like they’ve bought their ratings and reviews on Google because the food is really bad. First they said the order will be ready in 30 minutes but we had to wait for a total of 50 minutes before our order was ready for pickup. They forgot two of my items on my order. Their website lists drums of heaven and chicken tikka for 12.99 each and they charged me 14.99 each and then added tax extra on top of that. My order was 2 chole bhature, sev puri, bhel puri, chicken tikka, drums of heaven, chilly potato, flower onion bhaji out of which they forgot chilly potato so much so they didn’t even give or charge me for it. They also left the chutneys and bhel for me to assemble on my own which was another task. The bhaturas were too thick and undercooked, the chole were seasoned with too much garam masala, ruining the taste. The flower onion bhaji was undercooked, it felt like I was given one whole onion to chew that was undercooked. I paid more than 80 dollars for all this and was left really disappointed. I’ve had their corn (before) and that is the only thing I like but that’s not going to make me come back to Indian Rasoi. Safe to say, would never be back.

First off upon arrival when I came in the guy was pulling in the street sign at 9:00 p.m. (place said on google closes at 1 a.m.) and the place was empty and didn't look like a 4.3 star restaurant(Usually busy, clean, have character, etc.) Then we begin ordering and the lady starts recommending stuff because she doesn't have the items. Then when I ask them questions about their food, they give me really vague answers and flat out say they don't have that in the picture. And you know it's always a bad sign for a sit down fine dining restaurant to NOT have their own food in the pictures.

To start I ordered the naan bread WELL DONE, and it CAME out RAW on the inside. At this point if an Indian restaurant can't make good naan bread, that's a HUGE sign to Leave now.

Then when I order food she changes my order by making up some bs about how it's not enough food(It's their most expensive item and callled a PLATTER with 5 different types of chicken). I agree and I change it to 3 kebabs and she comes back with a plate of my original Chicken platter Order WITH fruits?? Wasn't on the menu at all. Not to mention the grapes were cut off at the points where there was mold. There was only 1 kebab sausage and a few chicken balls. Then on my gf's curry had like a sliced egg's in the curry a sliced EGG?! We eat it and I realize why there's an egg . There was only 3 tiny peices of meat with bone in the goat curry for 15.99. And when they gave us an option for the food it was either spicy or mild. They had NO medium option. That's because they ONLY have spicy/mild and when we said medium the girl gave a weird expression came out and brought us spicy. Needless to say my gf was tearing up from the spiciness.

THEN to make things worse when I went up to pay and charge no tip THIS LADY PUTS IN HER OWN TIP! CHARGING ME 15% ON HER OWN! In hindsight I should've gave them nothing and asked them to remove one item off the bill. This was not even worth half of what they charged me. The meat was cooked and spiced well. But other than that, the undercooked naan, the random extra charge on service(what restaurant charges hteir own tip for 2 people), the way they talk you into ordering different items, the fact that they don't have any ACTUAL pictures of the food they serve on the menu, and the TINY portions for the prices.

Best to avoid this place in little india AND Toronto as there are MANY better/cheaper/tastier...

We read a lot of reviews before going to the place. I was expecting the lady to mess around with my bill. The food is not anything close to what the reviews make it sound like. The food was very bland and the spices were not cooked properly (gave me heartburn, i eat super spicy food btw). The owners response on one of the comments states that "there is no extra charge before 11 pm (we were there at 8 pm). When the bill came, the lady had added a 15% gratuity on our $65 bill for my friend and i. I had read in the menu that a 15% gratuity is added to the bill after 11PM (this was the only thing stated in the menu which was basically a school binder with punched laminated pages). I said " the menu states after 11PM, the lady was holding the menu at that time. Her response was "everything is stated in the menu but i will remove it if it discomforts you" (she made it sound like she was doing us a favor). She then said that a lot of people come by and dont tip enough, that is why she charges a 15% gratuity on the bill. My friend and i always tip at least 15% anyway, but since she tried these sneaky tactics, i was upset. We left without tipping. There was no staff, or waiters and the lady was the one serving us. There was also a disgruntled employee who had come in to pick up his pay cheque after he got fired apparently because he called in sick. There was a loud argument going on in the dining room with us sitting right there. The lady yelled at the employee "get out of here before i call the cops on you, you're an international student anyway, its my word against yours". This lady is dishonest and the food is not fresh, all of the items we ordered tasted funny in some manner. A lot of the reviews on here are from the friends and relatives of the lady (mamta aunty). The google "local guide" reviews seem to be fake too because i went into the local guide reviews profile to find that he only had a few reviews in united states and it could have been a dummy/bot account. To conclude, i am never going back here again and also i am not trusting google reviews as much now after the experience i had at this place. All the reviews say "issues will billing system but great food" which is totally not true! The food sucks so does the management. the owner has literally replied to other reviews degrading them and talking down to them, it is sad to see yet hilarious! Looking Forward to hear from...

So few things:

Hospitality was 0 stars Experience was 00 stars Ms. Mamta was 000 stars Getting sneaky on billing 0000 stars Food was descent, so 3 stars (she fed us well) (but you need to chill out Ms. Mamta and not be so pushy with guests with reviews) (and stop charging extra on bills, sneeky much)

Read the details below: The hostess (owner/operator) Ms. Mamta was super extra.

Here are the few things she did wrong:

  1. She was creeping into my friend's phone while he was making a financial transaction and when he awkwardly asked why is she peeking into his phone (her response was, i am not going to leave you until you give me a good review on google)
  2. On seeing this, i refused to give her the review and said my hands are unwashed and I do not wish to type on my phone at the moment. Here response to this was: " Let me write it for you " She was super aggressive and typed the google review on my phone and gave herself 5 stars.
  3. I hate it when people try to be super sneaky. (Her billing system is super confusing, she didn't give me the bill and after going home, I realized she had charged me a 15% gratuity (which is okay) but I also gave her 10% Tip (which she demanded).

So in all, I ended up paying 25% extra charges. I am not sad cause I lost a few dollars, but deeply saddened by how this is allowed in today's day and time and when I read other reviews on google for this restaurant. I realized that the owner/operator/hostess/waiter/cook whoever she is Ms. Mamta is an arrogant, sneaky, loud mouthed person.

(If you do not believe me, read her responses to the reviews on google for your own satisfaction) They are hilarious as her writing skills are very very poor.

She might respond to this too. So let me tell you a few things: I will never go back to Indian Rasoi, I wont ever recommend anyone going to this place and I will make sure this issue is highlighted with the authorities in the area.

Restaurant's are supposed to be a place where people go to enjoy the food and their experience's. This was a horrendous experience and i got to know I was charged a few dollars extra, not given the bill ..and now it all add's up and makes sense.

Pathetic hospitality! Take some etiquette's lessons Ms. Mamta, it will definitely help you in...
