I visited the Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre Centre recently, and it honestly felt like stepping into another era. This historic double-decker theatre is truly one of a kind — the only remaining stacked theatre in the world. The lower level, Elgin Theatre, is classic, golden, and grand, while the upper level, Winter Garden, feels like a secret dream — the ceiling covered with real dried leaves, like you’re sitting inside a forest under warm lights. It’s breathtaking.
I attended A Night Under The Stars and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere, the details, the acoustics — everything felt thoughtful and magical.
There’s also a detailed architectural scale model inside the building that shows how the two theatres are built on top of each other. I loved this part — it helps you understand how rare and special this place is.
Just a heads up: I parked at the Eaton Centre parking, and it came to around $30, which was definitely pricey. So if you’re going, maybe look for a different parking option.
Overall, this theatre is not just a venue — it’s a piece of art, history, and memory. If you live in Toronto or are visiting, this is something you should experience...
Read moreTerrible organization. Absolutely pathetic. Came for the UFC press conference roughly 2-3 hours before doors opened. Stood in a line to get tickets for the press conference. Got the tickets and was told that having a ticket meant that your spot is confirmed and to either line up in the line that was forming to get into the venue or come back at 4 when the doors were scheduled to open. I immediately joined the line, and was surely within the first 350-400 people, however, this made no difference, as they only let in roughly less than a quarter of the people; and had the rest just wait outside in the cold for an hour with absolutely no communication as to what was going on. Absolutely no organization, a pathetic excuse for a venue. Why did tickets exceed the amount of capacity? Why was there absolutely no communication? If you’d like to catch a show, there are much better venues in Toronto, like the Ed Mirvish Theatre which is not much further. Stay away from this place. Hopefully they get their act together and learn to handle larger crowds efficiently and treat their patrons with...
Read moreThis was my 1st experience at Elgin Theater . We brought our in-laws there from Japan to watch Grease . ( they loved the theater ) I would recommend you to go check out the place for what ever show you are looking for . ALL the seats have great views . I was surprised by that . The balcony also looks great and over all the seating area is really not that big So wether your on a tight budget or you prefer to pay for the closest and best seats the Elgin and Winter is a great venue. The staff are very friendly , helpful and professional .
As for parking .. We booked with Ticketmaster 4 TICKETS and parking at the lot on Queen St . The email came for the tickets to the show perfectly , however the voucher for parking was a huge hassle. No voucher came so we ended up having to pay an additional $22.00 for parking . The lot is called INDIGO . They were very unorganized and the Staff was refusing to let us park there in spite of showing our email and tickets to the show .
Overall it was a great experience at the Theater and Ticketmaster did reimburse us for...
