Lonzo's Kitchen — Restaurant in Toronto

I recently visited Lonzo's Kitchen located on Dundas street and was blown away by the delicious food and large portions. Despite the restaurant being a bit of a dive, the food makes up for it tenfold. And the best part? They're open late, making it the perfect spot for a late-night craving.

I ordered the chicken on rice and was pleasantly surprised by how generously sized it was. The flavors were bursting with every bite, and I couldn't get enough. The restaurant was busy with orders from Uber Eats and other delivery methods, which only attests to how popular it is.

Another plus point was the ample free parking available, which made it easy to pop in and grab a meal without worrying about finding a spot. The staff was also friendly and welcoming, making for an overall enjoyable experience. As an FYI, they do have halal.

Overall, I would rate this restaurant a 4 out of 5. The food and portions were fantastic, and the fact that they're open late is a huge plus. While the restaurant may not have the most upscale ambiance, the delicious food more than makes up for it. Highly recommend checking it out!

I don't know what some of the negative reviews are all about. I went to the store in person, instead of using an app, and ordered a large chicken salad. Classic chicken, not bbq. The container (7.5 " x 5.25" x 1.75") was packed and solid like a brick, with some good weight to it. Generous portion of chunky, solid meat, compared to some other places. The staff were very friendly. One of the guys came across like he could be the owner/manager - like he appreciated me coming to his store. I was treated well. The store was clean, and while I waited for my order, someone was cleaning the tables even though they already appeared to be clean. It's small inside, typical of a small location. Maybe it gets crowded at lunch, but I don't know so I can't comment. They must do a lot of takeout and app orders. I've been a loyal customer to Lonzo's at this location for 4 years, drawn in by their unique and delicious food. However, my experience took a turn for the worse recently. They implemented a new policy of not accepting $100 bills, which I understood, given the prevalence of counterfeit money. What's more concerning is the service. On a few occasions, I've received dry chicken, which is unacceptable. When I politely brought it to the staff's attention, I was met with a defensive and personal attack. The staff member implied that I should have specified I wanted fresh chicken when I ordered, which is unrealistic. As a customer, I expect my food to be prepared correctly, not reheated. Instead of trying to understand my concern, he told me to take my money back if I'm unhappy. This experience has left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I hope the management will take customer feedback seriously and work on improving their service. It will be my last time going...
