The place is new, so it is as good as it is ever going to be...which is not very.
The service is painfully slow. The system for serving customers is just badly designed. The servers putter around with weighing the icecream going back and forth to ensure it was the proper amount (and on occasion mixing two types together along with various "toppings" on a marble slab, hence the name).
The icecream is not hard. Nor is it soft serve. It is simply a sloppy goop. All the time puttering about, did not help the problem.
The taste is not good. We tried three flavours (vanilla, mocha and deep dark chocolate) and they were all rather atificial flavoured tasting, at best. The texture was off as well, but I cannot tell if it was a problem with the icecream itself or the fact that it was served as a sloppy goop.
The price was set for premium icecream, which this clearly was not.
The only upside was that the waffle cones were made on the premises. The waffle cones were okay.
I will definitely not be returning and advising others to avoid the franchise as well.
I expect that once the legitimate ratings of regular customers come out more and more, the patently artificial ratings of the friends and family of the people who own and work there will be washed out that the overall rating will fall precipitously. At the time of posting, the ratings were a bunch of 5s and 1s, which in and of itself tells a lot and made me come to the conclusion that I did. Moreover, many of the 5 star reviews are from people who have no other reviews of any other place. And, at the time of posting, 48 of the 5 star reviews (at least 85 per cent of them) are from people with obviously South Asian names in a neighbourhood with few South Asians (there are mostly East Asians and Iranians, along with Whites). The whole...

I used to go to other locations frequently until this one opened up since it is closest to home. I visited this location 4 times in total. Because the ice cream making area is small, unlike the Promenade location, the store has to alternate between toppings. This makes sense. The three times I visited the store, they didn’t have all the toppings I wanted. Therefore, I would ask for two scoops of certain toppings. Today, I went in for the 4th time and they barely had any of the toppings I liked. I asked for two scoops of certain fixings and they said I am only allowed one scoop of each. I asked to speak to the manager and they said this was a franchise rule.
What makes no sense to me is this: if I am only allowed a certain amount of scoops of fixings why does it matter which fixings I get? What if all I want are brownies as a fixing and I want 3 scoops of it? Based on the manager’s logic this would not be possible and I would pay $8.00 for a regular ice cream with one scoop of brownies.
I have gone to other locations for years. No one has ever denied a request to give a little extra of any toppings if ever requested. For the steep price they charge, it is unreasonable to deny to give someone an extra topping of something if it falls within the set number of scoops of fixings they usually give someone for a certain size...
Read moreThe way that this place is running, I'm sure it will not last a year. I was there on a Thursday night, at around 8 pm, and there was a line up. They were serving a group of 5 before us and the two employees were serving the same group. When it got to us, the Indian lady who was working there started to change up the rules and decided to have one employee serve one group at a time. All while we stood there waiting 15 mins for her to complete our order, the people behind us were already paying. She couldn't get a single scoop regular birthday cake ice cream correct and needed us to repeat our order 3 times because she was distracted. Then she held my mint icecream in her hand while she was once again distracted with the other group's order. I stood there to watch my ice cream melt. She still served it to me in a cone still. Lack of efficiency, management and distracted employees will surely bring...
