I dined with a group of friends on Tuesday night. I ordered a sweet pot dessert but accidentally selected the option to have it served after my meal. I didn’t realize until much later. I asked our server, who said he’d put my order through.
15 minutes later, I still hadn’t received it. I asked another server, who repeated that I’d chosen “bring later.” I explained I’d already asked for it. She checked with the kitchen and said it would be another five minutes because a topping needed to be cooked — yet I noticed the kitchen staff were standing around chatting. Why wasn’t I made aware of this earlier? I could have ordered something else. There needs to be better communication between the kitchen and front-of-house.
By then, my friends had finished eating so I asked to cancel. The server insisted it would be just five more minutes and seemed annoyed that I wanted to cancel. One of the kitchen staff was even staring at me as I left the restaurant.
I understand there’s an automatic 15% gratuity for large groups, but no one checked on our table once. How can you justify the auto gratuity?
Finally, the men’s washroom smelled strongly of sewage — this was my second visit this month, and it was just as...
Read moreThe service at this restaurant is terrible. I asked to sit by the window to enjoy the view, but Echo, the manager with yellow hair, told me they couldn’t seat anyone there because they were cleaning the windows. Funny enough, this isn’t the first time—every time I come, they give the same excuse. They claim they clean the windows every Monday, yet last week on Wednesday, they were “cleaning the windows” again. Make the lie make sense.
I arrived at 9:30 PM, and they told me they couldn’t seat me by the window due to cleaning. At 11 PM, I asked why they still hadn’t started, and of course, no real answer. Meanwhile, other customers were sitting near the windows, and multiple spots were open. Clearly, they were just making excuses.
On top of that, Echo gave me unnecessary attitude, and I even had to get up to grab my own water. I have no idea how someone with such poor customer service skills is in a management position. If this is how they treat customers, I won’t be...
Read moreVisited with a large group of people including small children. The staff provided high chairs and were accommodating. The ordering system, in my opinion is very time consuming. They give you a QR code on a tiny piece of paper that's linked to your table. You need a cell phone with a QR scanner to eat at this restaurant because apparently that is the only way to order. It is difficult to follow because you don't know if the staff read it right when the order went in or if the staff see it later. Therefore you don't know when your food is coming. As a person with dietary restrictions (no gluten, soy or dairy) surprisingly I could eat some of the selection of teppan rice dishes (no sauce which comes on the side anyways). I wasn't impressed overall with everything. Definitely wasn't worth the hour long drive from where I live. Smoked duck teppan rice dish pictured in this review. The dessert was from someone at my table- contains gluten and...
